The first episode is fast paced and gets the basic world building done pretty quickly. "Almost everyone in the world is going to die" are some pretty high stakes to start out with. 100

The property and buildings had been sold to a capital management firm, who were going to turn it into condos – but have since defaulted on their mortgage payments. So it sold again to a different capital management firm and continues to stand impressively but abandoned. /🧵 450

The original plans for the area had included more residential and office complexes that would have made the hotel a hub of activity. 100
