When you can't get a job, function in society or feed a family, those ideas fly out the window. Getting a degree is an incredibly expensive endeavor with poor outcomes for most. I earned 2 degrees. I did not "develop" because of college, but in spite of it. Thank God I didn't accrue massive debt

Which is why we should have done something long ago. My own undergraduate experience was subpar (1980s). Too much time and money is wasted on meaningless, uninspiring work. We are still rearranging the chairs on the deck of the Titanic and simultaneously ignoring all these cries for help. #EduSky

We had to submit paper copies of exams with answer keys (for years after our exams were all digital) "just in case" someone came in to take an exam after grades were posted. A total waste of resources and teacher's time. We also did the end of year checkout (paper) forms. 😐

The unfortunate truth is that most of us leave school with very little. The support we actually need to grow is supplanted by meaningless curricular tasks that we assume are "important" because experts (teachers, admin, policy makers) say so. We find out afterwards that mostly we just wasted time.
