I can confirm the kea is a jester. It ripped off Pepper's kākāpō pin from my hat!! It dropped in the water to be lost forever. The kea is so jealous of its parrot cousin. 🙄 Hold onto your hats (and pins)!!

Good times in Battle Snails and Wild Warfare! Thanks @rocketsnail.com and SkyVu for bringing your silly, fun fighting games back online on Steam. I first played them 10 years ago, and have hoped for their return. I also hope they both gain traction again.

NZ tree shirts are RARE! I’ve visited many gift shops across Aotearoa NZ, not finding much. Thanks @pepperraccoon.com for the fun tree shirt and kākāpō pin! Shoutout to the rimu tree: its mass fruiting allows the kākāpō to have their important breeding season every 2-4 years. Happening rn in 2026!

I’ve done five music festivals in one year. Laneway in Auckland, New Zealand had the BEST lineup. Chappell Roan ended the night! BUT are you a true festivalgoer if you didn’t attend Music Jam in Club Penguin? That was my first festival as an 11-year-old. :)

As an AuDHD teen, I was left out at school. #ClubPenguin was my happy place where I could unmask, belong, be myself, and make friends. I would not have the social, outgoing confidence I do today if not for Club Penguin. Happy #ClubPenguin20th Anniversary! What does #ClubPenguin20 mean to you?

I’ve been learning how to navigate life now knowing I am Autistic. One thing I’ve learned is that my special interests are treasures. Living out my special interests is authentically me and I have much more life satisfaction that way. I dig anything Bluey and New Zealand! And as a kid, Club Penguin!

How are these any different? Lots of ways. But like with Club Penguin’s shutdown in 2017, lots of people grieved the loss of TikTok. It’s what happens when any platform dies (even in just one region). I never liked using TikTok. However, many folks found belonging and community.

Yesterday was an important day for Aotearoa New Zealand as people from all over the country came to Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) to protest against a bill that would ignore Māori rights. One Māori person I spoke to said it’s not just about rights, but their language, culture, and survival.

It was a beautiful day as Māori, Pākehā (New Zealanders of European descent), and everyone else united to voice for what’s right in the hīkoi (march). From the city streets to Parliament to the waterfront, people proudly voiced their support and emotions in the name of Māori survival.
