I know you are devastated, Mayor Wu, but you can honor Louisa’s memory by becoming the transformative mayor you once promised to be. Take a cue from Anne Hidalgo who turned Paris into a bike friendly city that surpasses Boston in terms of pedestrian and cycling accessibility and safety. Our city is simply unsafe for cyclists and pedestrians. Separated bike lanes, cameras at critical intersections, better visibility at pedestrian crossings, going after dangerous drivers and more extensive safe cycling infrastructure slows down cars, ultimately protecting cyclists, pedestrians and drivers. Louisa tried to help create a city built for people, not just cars. What a fitting tribute to her to make sure Boston becomes such a place.
