I will say, I’ve noticed infusion nurses here becoming more familiar with ME/CFS. Not necessarily EDUCATED on it, but knowing it exists because of the number of ME/CFS patients they see getting pain treatments. Granted, I do live in an area where some ME/CFS study has been done.

I’m in the USA, but this is the illness I have, btw. 74/20000+ is very much how it feels over here. At best, medical professionals think someone else must specialize in it and so they don’t need to educate themselves on in it. At worst, they dismiss the illness’s validity.

And sometimes what was communicated was a simple as, "wow, look at this funny little guy." And people resonate with that funny little guy. Or it could be as complex as trying to convey your ideals and values. The way a great loss is making you feel, or the safety you've found in a loving space.

One of the wonderful things about art is that its value doesn't come from being "the best." Yeah, art competitions exist, but I assure you there are quick doodles on the internet that have had lasting poignant impact on someone else simply because the art, as communication, RESONATED with them.

Much like you don't need to be a professional runner to benefit from going for a daily walk, you don't need to be a skilled enough artist to make a living off of it to benefit from expressing yourself. It would be silly to refuse to go to for a walk just because olympic athletes exist.

Talent is basically a multiplier that you apply to your practice/experience to see how fast you level up your skill. If you never put in the work, it'll never come into play, but people with more talent will generally level up faster with the same amount of practice. THAT SAID...
