Day 8 of our Coast to Coast and over the moors, gills and lead mines to Arkengarthdale. 11 miles of high misty moorland, relics of long past industry, waterfalls and melancholy landscapes. This is my 10th C2C, and the joy of a long, hot bath 🛀

Day 7 of our Coast to Coast and a a beautiful day over Nine Standards Rigg to Keld in Swaledale. 12 miles of high moorland, quiet dales, waterfalls and beautiful views. This is my 10th C2C, and you can’t beat the Yorkshire Dales!

Photos from Day 6 of our Coast to Coast and a wet day across the Westmorland Plateau to Kirkby Stephen. 20 miles of grassy moorland, prehistoric stones, limestone scars plus a great cafe. This is my 10th C2C, and four signposts as we approached Kirkby Stephen all said 2 miles!

Day 5 of our Coast to Coast and over the mountains to Shap, and the end of the Lake District. 16 miles of mountains (Kidsty Pike & High Raise), far reaching views and lovely autumnal colours. This is my 10th C2C, and that smell & taste of fish, chips and mushy peas after 10 hours of walking!

Day 4 of our Coast to Coast and over the fells to Glenridding. A lovely sunny, cloudy, breezy, autumnal day. Quiet paths, great views, legends and poets. This is my 10th C2C, and the joy of seeing a proper bath in your bathroom at your B&B 🛀

Photos from Day 3 of our Coast to Coast and we’re over the fells to Grasmere. The winds up on Greenup Edge was touching 40mph so quite exhilarating. This is my 10th C2C, and the sticky toffee pudding at the Glaramara Hotel was the best I’ve ever eaten!

Day 1 of our Coast to Coast and a wet and windy start to this epic journey across Northern England. 11 miles of varied terrain including St Bees Priory, the glacial channel of Pow Beck, Moor Row and Cleator, Flat Fell and Nannycatch. We missed out Dent Hill due to the winds. This is my 10th C2C.

Photos from our last day of our 5-day Isle of Mull Adventure Week and we split into two groups… one group went off to Iona and I headed up to the Trig Point on Dùn da Ghaoithe (757m) with magnificent views. This Trig Point is a bit of a rarity as it’s a cylindrical concrete ‘Vanessa’ pillar

Photos from Day 4 of our Isle of Mull Adventure Week and we’re off to the island off an island - Ulva. What an experience, from the tiny ferry to clearance villages, standing stones and basalt columns that are part of the same sequence as the Giant’s Causeway.

Photos from day 1 of our 5-day Isle of Mull Adventure Week and a dreich day! But nothing can dampen our spirits, so after a coffee at Salen, we headed off through to walk ‘coast to coast’ over to Loch Na Keal, which was teeming with seabirds. We then headed back via the hillfort of Cnoc na Sròine.

Final day of our 8-day Coast to Coast Highlights walk and into Robin Hoods Bay. Littlebeck to RHB. Woodland and cliffs, light winds and warm sunshine. Luckily the tide was right in, so could throw our pebbles from the slipway! I’m back at the end of September to guide my 10th full C2C walk.

Day Seven of our 8-day Coast to Coast Highlights walk and on to the North York Moors. 10 miles from Osmotherley to Clay Bank Top. The morning was wet and blustery across Carlton Moor then the sun came out for the rollercoaster path across Cringle Moor, Cold Moor and the Wain Stones.
