San Francisco 1967: My older brother used to live next door to the Avalon Ballroom. It was a treasure trove of musical and cultural activity. Super enjoyed visiting him as a kid and seeing the Dead and other artists simply hanging out near the front door. Mickey Hart gave me his drumsticks.

The Avalon Ballroom was a mecca of musical and cultural entertainment back in the 60's in San Francisco. The entrance is at lower left.

We had it on reel-to-reel back in 1966. I was 6. I used to help spool the tape. Bobby Scott wrote "A Taste of Honey" back in 1960...won the Grammy in 1963.

Awesome work. This sort of art resonates with me and I don't know why, I don't have the words for it. Maybe that's what art is? This reminds me of the "The World is a Ghetto" album cover from the group "War" back in the early 70's. Loved the art on their album cover, too.
