Good news, everyone! North High School in Des Moines has selected me for its Alumni Hall of Fame. I bounced through 9 schools growing up and, for a while, wasn’t even sure I’d finish high school. Being welcomed back this way is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Yesterday I visited Avenue Scholars’ Skilled Trades Boot Camp at MCC’s Fort Omaha Campus. Students were getting hands-on experience with skills that can lead to real careers. It’s one of three summer boot camps, along with healthcare and transportation. Gotta love it!
