9 years ago, we witnessed the deadliest mass shooting in our country’s history when a gunman opened fire with an assault weapon at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas. We must take action in honor of all those impacted and keep these weapons of war off our streets!

The majority of gun deaths are suicides, and youth suicide rates have dramatically increased — especially among Black and Brown communities. Children are 20x more likely to die by suicide w/ a gun at home than in a shooting at school. Securely storing guns = saving lives.

Our communities should be able to gather without people being shot. A peaceful day in the park should never end in this type of horrific violence. Instead of easy access to guns, let's give our communities easy access to the resources they truly need! bit.ly/4ybyiUv

A reunion for residents of the shuttered Robert Taylor Homes turned deadly when someone opened fire on the gathering. It was at least the fourth mass shooting tied to an outdoor gathering this summer.

Philando Castile was a legal gun owner, Black, and was shot and killed after being pulled over and disclosing to an officer that he had a firearm in the vehicle. His death was gruesome, inhumane, and unjust. We must confront systemic racism to truly end gun violence.

Great news out of Delaware! Lawmakers passed a bill that would require gun dealers to operate responsibly, adhering to certain business practices. It would also give the state power to revoke a dealer’s license if they act negligently. bit.ly/4vMF96a

Today is #ASKDay. Parents should ask if there are unsecured guns where their children play. Young people can ask too—especially when babysitting, dog sitting, house sitting, or moving in with new roommates. One question could save a life. #AskingSavesKids

Today's U.S. v. Hemani decision doesn't change a fundamental fact: the Second Amendment is not absolute. The Court reaffirmed that lawmakers can restrict firearm access for certain categories of people. Those safeguards are essential to the Brady Background Check System and public safety.
