So I apparently already botched my plan to update this space at least once a month, oops. March seemed to just zoom past me, in my defense.... Anyway, I recently got my Mother Dearest a bird feeder with a camera on it that uses a detection service to tell you what kind of bird is currently grabbing some dinner. Pretty neat, right?

After 6 years, my beloved iPhone Mini 12 both ran out of space (yes, i've done a lot to take back space, 64GB still wasn't enough.) and the battery was starting to give up the ghost. I now have a very pretty iPhone 17 whose lavender hue actually matches my PC gaming controller, but i've taken to affectionately calling it Hythlophone, after one of my favorite Final Fantasy 14 NPCs, …

So it’s almost a month since I quit social media and boy howdy am I greater for it. I’m still staying informed on things, which is the reason behind my blog post title today. In which, it is so absolutely mind boggling how the political sides take a story and form their own narratives about it. Like, who do you really believe in this case?!

About a year or so ago, my ex was supposed to buy my Nintendo Switch from me, though it never happened. And then recently I hear about Nintendo remembering New Horizons exists after five years. I figured I would play as normal, despite my Switch having been wiped and pull down all my data from the cloud once I resumed my Nintendo Online subscription, much like Sony freezes Playstation Plus subscriptions.

After using a Roku TV for the longest time, I've "upgraded" to an Apple TV. Upgraded in quotes because this particular model hasn't been updated since 2022. My biggest reason for upgrading was that when I would try to watch shows on HBO, the audio was SO low and I've tried so many fixes. Eventually I decided enough was enough, and I had the added benefit of an Ethernet port. In other news, I don't think this is how bathtubs work.... Hahaha, I love silly game glitches.

Neil Newbon shares how acting in video games gave him a new creative beginning after years of struggling to find his place in TV and film. Despite advice from others to give up, he followed his instincts and discovered a path that brought fulfilment, stability, and lasting friendships. Through performance capture, he found not only a career but a renewed sense of purpose and fatherhood. Neil is an award-winning actor and performance capture specialist known for bringing to life standout video game characters such as Karl Heisenberg (Resident Evil Village from Capcom) and Astarion (Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios), the latter earning him Best Performance at The Game Awards 2023 and a BAFTA in 2024. With a background in theatre, film and TV, Neil transitioned into voice and mocap work in the 2010s and has become one of the industry’s leading figures. He now runs the Performance Captured Academy, helping train the next generation of game performers, and recently co-founded the Pixel Pack, a collective advocating for the recognition and rights of actors in games - particularly in response to the rise of AI in digital performance.
