Just beat #Quake for the first time. Yep, this is my favorite ID game, hands down. I love most of the others, but damn, for a game rushed this hard, the level design, monsters, weapons, and pacing are just perfect. Such a satisfying game to play.

Almost done Episode 3 of the original Quake. God damn this game is good. I only ever finished the shareware episode back in the day, and this is so fucking good, oh my god. I know this game got famous over deathmatch, but the single player is absolutely astounding.

I really hope we get a de+recomp of Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem someday. Such an underrated title locked to the Gamecube. Nightdive has mused about re-releasing it but the possibility of that is kind of up in the air as it's unclear who even owns the rights to the game anymore.

I like that Death Stranding isn't for me, I like that they didn't play it safe, I like that they weren't afraid to design the gameplay in a way that would alienate some people. I want more diversity in the gameplay of the medium, I want games that are about the art first, money second.

Has anyone noticed a massive drop in the quality / freshness of produce after the pandemic? I remember buying fruits and vegetables in 2019 and earlier, and it was much fresher, better tasting, and higher quality than what I find now. I have to buy local farm produce to get anything good now.

I don't really like the way they translated Ocarina Of Time's art style in the remake. I know it's not AI but it looks like if you used AI for all the references. I don't think they actually used AI in any step of the process, but I also just don't like how it looks because it reminds me of AI slop.

I'm notice something with a lot of Roguelike sequels nowadays. It's what I call the "All Frosting" issue. The original games have a mix of basic mechanics with slowly ramping complexity and difficulty. The sequels feel like the final levels of the previous game, only way longer.

Non-Artist never seem to see the issue with this. The problem is that every professional artist who participates is giving the contest runner custom art for free to pick from, even if it's not selected. Many contests don't even pay the winners. Professional artists deserve to be paid for our time.
