We had a fabulous time in Newcastle at the end of July with our incoming trainees for National Gathering. We loved geeking out on mathematics pedagogy with them and had some great talks from @meimaths.bsky.social on AI and from @ncetm.bsky.social on connections in mathematics

We were joined by over 100 of our ECTs this week at their final training days in London, Manchester and Nottingham. It was a brilliant opportunity to reflect on their progress, celebrate their successes and hear all about the ambassador projects they've worked on this year 🥳 #MathsToday

We're looking forward to seeing our Year 2s for their final training day of the programme next week! We will be looking at challenge without acceleration and digging into the new problem solving resources from @mathshorizons.bsky.social #MathsToday

It's just three weeks until we are headed to Newcastle with our incoming trainees for a big in-person finish to Summer Institute. We're excited that as well as their core/mathematics sessions, trainees can choose to attend sessions from @meimaths.bsky.social and @ncetm.bsky.social as part of Ed Fest

Today is our first subject seminar for full-time Summer Institute trainees. This is the holding slide if anyone fancies a go at some lovely problems #MathsToday
1. Three consecutive numbers multiplied together give 3360. What are the numbers?
2. If you wrote all the integers from 0 to 600, how many times would the digit 5 appear?

Y2s engaged superbly with their final online seminar last week. They looked at the problem with problem-solving with David Thomas from @axiommaths.bsky.social, were introduced to @meimaths.bsky.social by Sharon Tripconey & Carol Knights, and reflected on the culture of their mathematics classrooms 👏

We loved our last training days of the year with Y1s last week. Trainees in London, Birmingham and Leeds looked at using rich tasks, different ways of scaffolding, and calculator use, as well as diving into the topic of iteration. They also shared their advice for next year's cohort #MathsToday

Was great to see our Y1s at training days in Birmingham, Leeds & London last week. We loved hearing how you're getting on in school and geeking out on some maths with you all. Trainees also got thinking about their next steps in their practitioner research for their PGCE assignment #MathsToday
