Just sat down for my next film at the London Film Festival with The Devils. Never expected the uncut version to ever get released, let alone it getting a full restoration. Going to be great to experience this on the big screen #lff #lff2026 #londonfilmfestival #thedevils @princecharlescinema.com

Just sat down for my first film at this year's London Film Festival, the World Premiere of Wildwood. This has been at the top of my most anticipated list since it was first announced several years ago. Going to be a great start to the festival #lff #lff2026 #londonfilmfestival #wildwood #laika

Spending the day at @cineredis.bsky.social. Starting off with a celebration of 50 years of Aardman with a tribute to Morph with Aardman founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton. A brilliant start to the day #cineredis26

Just sat down to watch The Odyssey in 70mm IMAX. This has been my most anticipated film since it was announced and I bought these tickets a year ago. Really excited to see what Christopher Nolan does with this and to see it in the best format possible. #theodyssey #bfi #imax #christophernolan

Double theatre day today and a pretty eclectic mix of tones and styles, but both giving different ideas of life and culture in the 80s.

🎵 Rosalind married Alan from her string quartet. Fiddling with her friends you know that is how they met. The great thing about Alan, Alan could not be dreamier But the viola player sadly, well he contacted septicemia ROSALIND'S A FUCKING NIGHTMARE🎵

I just tried this and got given this answer, saying the game itself didn't exist before contradicting itself later in the same answer. Needed to say it was wrong 3 times before it was correct. Absolutely useless

About to sit down to see the 4K remaster of Sorcerer in the cinema. Going to be a great film to see on the big screen. #princecharlescinema #film #london @princecharlescinema.com

This is now one of my most anticipated releases of the year. Never expected Warner Bros to officially release the directors cut of The Devils. Hopefully it gets a proper cinema release in the UK

Hopefully this means Warner Bros is finally going to release the uncensored version of The Devils on blu-ray

Film you’ve seen more than six times. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

Sat down for my next London Film Festival showing and it's one of the big films at the festival, and one at the Royal Festival Hall, Hamnet. I haven't read the book but heard great things about it. #lff2025 #londonfilmfestival #lff

About to go in to watch a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. This will only be the second Shakespeare play I've seen in person after I watched Coriolanus last year. Heard great things about this production. Should be a great afternoon.

Just sat down to watch the stage version of North by Northwest. Going to be interested to see how Hitchcock translates to stage. Should be a fun evening

My ratings for each of the short films shown at @fwfilmfestival.bsky.social. It was a toss up for me between The Wedding Veil of the Proud Princess and Les Bétes for my favourite one. Also good to have a little chat with @filmbrainbmb.bsky.social about the shorts after the screening

Had a brilliant day at the Auckland War Memorial museum. Fascinating to see the different exhibitions on life in Auckland, the role of New Zealand in war. The highlight was a Maori cultural demonstration. An incredibly profound and beautiful experience.

Another highlight of the Hobbiton set tour was getting to see inside a Hobbit hole. This wasn't one used in the films but you could see it being in there. The attention to detail in everything from the furniture to the decorations was incredible to see and it was an absolute joy to see it all.

Had a brilliant day today going around the Hobbiton set. Got to see the different sets used in the films. The attention to detail in all the exteriors was a joy to see, hear and even smell (there were little smokers to create smoke in the chimneys). An incredible day for a Lord of the Rings fan.

Here are my predictions for what I think will win at the Oscars, along with films that weren't nominated that I would have liked to have seen (two for each category) and my personal choices. Not 100% confident in my picks as it's been a weird Oscar season, can see a few surprises happening

Tony Cogan @tcoogs.bsky.social · 21/02/2025

I've now seen all of the Best Picture nominees at the Oscars and I've got my ranking of them. Doesn't quite reflect my thoughts as there is a massive gulf in quality to me between all of the other nominees and Emilia Pérez, which is probably the worst Best Picture nominee I've seen in a long time

Tony Cogan @tcoogs.bsky.social · 31/12/2024

My ranking of all the films from 2024 I saw this year. There are some films released in 2023 outside the UK that only got released here this year. By that same metric, a film like Flow, which would be in my top 10, is not eligible for my list since it is not released until next year.
