Also I know the basilisk can unmask anyone, I’m more concerned about internet randos who inexplicably latch onto other randos for hate reasons

I’d keep the anon account as is for the connections I need to make that themselves prefer to be anon, so this would be a separate account on the atmosphere

What kinds of steps do people follow to be healthy/safe as builders/creators on the internet who’re not anonymized? I feel like there’d be value in me having my actual name attached to things I build and publish (recently allowed to do so), but my paranoia keeps me on an anon account

Most confusing part to me was the sol point release. With a jump like that, why wasn’t that the gen6 update? Couldn’t wait a week? Many people did not understand “it’s the same but a lot cheaper”

Gotcha, and yeah “untangle” is a good word given how much the like to thread workflow arrows through and over other pieces of the diagram… maybe the next point release will understand how not to overlap chart components 🙏

Honest question: I gave mine access to lucidchart via mcp and it was barely legible, are they much better at excalidraw?

Thanks! I agree it reduces noice, but I guess clarity is subjective. I also think I’ve not given good motivation for what I’m asking: I get what you’ve spelled out, but does it help ppl visually parse and reason about what the code is doing? Maybe to those who like curry. That’s what I’m exploring 🙂

It’s definitely a topic I *should* look more into; maybe this will be the nudge I need to do it properly. And as for straying from the norm, the current iteration of syntax only uses = for comparisons and doesn’t reserve `if`, so there’s definitely a learning curve planned for any future adopters.

Perfectly valid question - I actually don’t deeply understand it outside of what I’ve read from random blogs/wikipedia, my degree actually had very little on PL in it. I can see it aligning with the “single param” notion, but does it add to clarity with all the extra code/visual machinery needed?

Does this, and all its implications, have upsides? I like to think so, I’m mostly exploring to learn. Does it have downsides? Definitely, but I’m too green to articulate that yet. But I’m very much in the camp of wanting clarity when reviewing code, either from human or AI, and I’m trying for it.

I think it’s similar since any time you’d reach for those fancy capabilities, the language doesn’t support them. You get (read: are forced to use) named parameters via structs, but that’s because you’re passing a struct as the sole parameter, and you can define ad hoc or declare a struct as a type.

tchypz @tchypz.com · 22/09/2026
Possibly in the same line of thinking, I’m trying my novice hand at PL design with a “there is only one parameter” rule for functions. It’s one of: a singular thing like int or string; a list of the same thing (e.g. buncha ints); a “struct” for mixed types, where each is named.

Techbro: any gender, just needs to be largely unable to care for the humanity while trying to solution with tech. Doesn’t mean no social skills. Just means overly pragmatic, and often boastful. Not a techbro: able to say “let’s not do that, it would be bad for people”

If you use AI, did you really “do the work?” And if you don’t “do work,” does your life really have purpose, & can you truly be fulfilled? My sources on the internet are telling me “Blocked.” But I feel for people tied to their work in this way. Your identity should be more than how hard you toil.

I read the post as not saying it’s actively happening, but that it’s at stake. Maybe that’s too low a bar for this reaction, in which case yes you’re right and more civility was due. But I am already uncomfortable with the amount of guessing I’m doing as to others’ thoughts, which this hinges on.

However that raises the follow-up question: for non-SWE game devs (e.g. artists), is it acceptable for them to “replace” the coder? They were definitely going to hand make the assets, because that’s their passion. But shouldn’t they hire a coder for code, since that’s outside their wheelhouse?
010
tchypz @tchypz.com · 30/08/2026
I feel “who did you replace” to be the important question for people. For the portion of game devs that are SWEs by background (not artists) my gut says “don’t generate any assets or writing” so that you’re not replacing artists, but code is fine because you’re not “replacing” yourself.
