Apologies if this isn’t the subreddit to post this but I am meeting my friend in person who I haven’t seen since they transitioned. It’s been about 6 years since I last saw them, but we’ve talked over discord and text message ever since we last saw each other.

I’ve known them for about 11 years now, and I’m very excited to see them but I also want to be respectful and I don’t know how I should greet them in person.

I’m sorry if I sound dumb or ignorant but this person is very important to me and I just want to be as respectful as possible. Do I act like this the first time meeting them or just continue like it was since the last time I saw them? I will obviously be addressing them by their preferred name, but I just want make sure I don’t make a fool of myself.

Any advice is appreciated!
