Sadly even there money rules, the candidate with the most ads is most likely to win. We need to end Citizen's United.

There was NEVER a "refinery deal" to destroy. Convicted felon and child rapist Donald J Trump just lies.

We also need to demand better candidates to choose between. Right now it's just different groups of billionaires deciding who we get to choose between. (No I'm NOT saying both parties are the same, just both are bought and paid for by different oligarchs with their own agendas)

True, but in this case it was convicted felon and child rapist Donald J Trump's Pentagon that briefly shut off Ukraine's military GPS satellites (not internet).

None of these products you think are "local" are truly local, that's the part you don't seem to understand. All these "local" businesses are using internationally sourced raw materials. You want to know what would still be available to you if the global economy collapsed? Break out a history book.

True, guns don't balance the scales against crazy people, they empower the most crazy and most willing to use violence. You should have hunting guns, not "self defense".

All I'm saying is be prepared to only eat what you can make without ANY business helping you. Those local farms will be using all their food to keep themselves alive in the worst case scent.

You keep describing a bunch of complex global distribution methods and think those will magically keep working if there's a global financial collapse. They won't. You don't make even the majority of your foot. I have a ranch, I don't even make the majority of my food.

And all of those businesses rely on the global marketplace to produce food, fuel from Canadian oil refined in Texas then shipped to those farms. Fertilizer made using phosphate from the Middle East. Machine parts from China. You don't seem to understand the fragility of the system.

What a useless law, there aren't ANY data centers on public land. Nor are public lands prime candidates. Optimal locations are rural land just outside urban centers, not off in the woods or desert. They need power grids and good roads.

You've never lived in a world without grocery stores. How will you eat when those stores have empty shelves?

She worked as a law associate in China for two years. In China you do need to pass the bar (and be a citizen) to be a law associate. EXCEPT those working for foreign/international firms (as she did) who aren't considered to be practicing Chinese law and thus don't need to pass the Chinese bar.

When the global economy collapses, the only meat you'll be eating is meat you hunt for yourself. Plus you have to fight off the roaming MAGAt rape gangs.

They are prime examples of weak, spineless and cowardly Dems unwilling to fight for anything important alright. Best you'll get from those two is a strongly worded letter.

Stockpile guns and ammo. Have a one year supply of non-perishable "survival rations". And don't forget water purification technology, you'll need 300 gallons of water per person per year just for drinking.

Why would you ask a deliberately right-wing, deliberately fascist, conspiracy embracing AI about anything?

I'm guessing she's their sacrificial "see we fight corruption" lamb. They will pretend to care until after the midterm election and then convicted felon and child rapist Dementia Donny will quietly pardon her of all crimes.

Nah, even after Trump loses there are still enough American's dumb enough to do this all over again. After all, 2016-2020 was the worst administration in US history and just 4 years later America was dumb enough to do it again.

Most crypto doesn't work that way, the records are in the "block chain" which is publicly stored and widely distributed. But if "brokered" accounts, crypto or regular, were knocked out you might lose access to the brokerage service needed to access those funds.

I would be okay with private schools getting public money IF they follow the same rules as public schools: 1. Must accept ALL students in their district. 2. Can't just kick out poor performers or troublesome students.

This has always been true. It's why ancient people invented religions so they can pretend there is justice after death for the evil. Which is why the evil and powerful quickly took over religion too.

Don't believe these stories, they are designed to encourage people on the left to think they already won so they stay home and to encourage people on the right to show up in larger numbers. Corporate media needs drama and close races to sell news. Just VOTE. And vote blue no matter who.

It's weird how all of those are considered mutually exclusive choices too. They are more like points on a continuous spectrum. Social Democracy balances free market capitalism with pro-people "socialist" policies, for example. And communism doesn't even really exist at scale, it's just an idea.

AI is also a hard thing to study given the pace of improvement. A good study can take a year and within the last year the quality of AI has doubled. The studies showing the most improvement are on jobs like "middle management" where there's the combo of a lot of information processing and tedium.

I feel like everyone "knew" the Internet would be a huge productivity boost, but it took a long time to "prove" it. It seems everyone feels the same about AI right now. In both cases it took time to figure out what worked and what didn't.

If Dems are tough and brave and push out some real reforms then they will get decades of support. They could surpass the 1955-1981 period of congressional control. Term limits for Supreme Court and Congress, for example, and a ban on elected officials trading stocks would be a start.

Todd Berkebile @tberkebile.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
God I hope so. But I'm not counting on it. I think the Dems will chicken out and spew B.S. abut "moving forward" and "putting the past behind us" even as these traitorous criminal grifters are still robbing We The People blind in broad daylight.

But EVERYONE with a brain knew globalization would drive away manufacturing, pushing it into cheaper markets. Likewise everyone knows tariffs on raw materials will also push American manufacturing into cheaper markets. Both Reagan and Trump did things that would obviously harm American factories.
010
Todd Berkebile @tberkebile.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
Back in the 80s Reagan also used the lie of saving manufacturing to launch "globalization". It was extremely successful marketing that got many middle class workers to support Reagan. Trump also has had a lot of support from those same folks using the same lie about saving manufacturing.

The lie behind convicted felon and child rapist Dementia Donny's "tariffs" is that he's "rebuilding American manufacturing". The reality is it's having the opposite effect: ground.news/article/tari... Is that just incompetence or is it being done on purpose?

President Donald Trump's tariffs are turning factory workers against his Republican Party over fears the import taxes could lead to fewer jobs instead of the manufacturing renaissance he promised.

Before convicted felon and child rapist Donald J Trump made billons off political grifting he used to make most of his wealth money laundering for Russian oligarchs. Putin has all the proof of this, along with more proof Trump rapes children. So Trump has always been on Putin's side.

For example, when we say "artificial sweetener" when mean a sweetener not generated by natural biological processes. The artificial in artificial intelligence is used in exactly the same sense of the word. Same for artificial: flavors, turf, heart, flowers, limbs, satellites, fabrics, lakes, etc.

Todd Berkebile @tberkebile.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Super Intelligence is a moronic name. Fans say it sounds better or is better marketing. But "super" is a purely subjective word with no meaning. Meanwhile "Artificial" intelligence is objectively descriptive, meaning "non biological". Even better, "machine intelligence" is even more descriptive.

Advice from the same book that forbids cotton-poly blends, says any man with damaged testicles cannot enter a church, and requires ritualistically killing a cow and washing in its blood whenever an unidentified corpse is discovered. Maybe a book full of such nonsense is meaningless?

Good luck with that one. For better or worse the US has designed it's infrastructure in such a way to make cars necessary despite their huge environmental impact. You'd have to fix that first, which would take multiple generations of dedicated effort.
