So I’ve been trying to date and make friends specifically within the fandom for a while, but I’ve mostly gotten a lot of empty promises and depressed weeks. Some fault mine, most fault theirs. And now I feel really detached from the idea of love. If I latch on, they’re jus gonna hurt me again.

Good morning krusty crew. Heading out today to a water treatment plant. Another early day with little to no sleep. I’m gonna arrive 30mins later than they want me. It’s gonna be interesting to see if they care about that. My eyes have not stopped leaking for the past 2 days. Very annoying allergies.

Got called out to Indiana today for a masonry and rebar inspection. They had huge ass steel beams on that thing and had finished all their grouting last Friday. Guy was like “why are you even here then?” Idk man, why does your company fuck us around on the scheduling? At least I get some hours.

They’re building a mound structure in a nature park. I don’t think I’ve ever been so lost looking for the site. I also don’t think I’ve ever edged myself to a bloody nose, but my allergies today are determined to do just that.

I was just in and out of another potential relationship. One week of excitement and emotions. Unfortunately I think that wore off yesterday. I feel for the guy though. I’ve been there myself. Now I get to face trying to make peace with myself again. That’s the hardest thing.

Just went to chat with a random rail fan I found at a crossing. We chatted about the 4014. He said he was gonna catch it in Ft Wayne. I told him I was gonna try Fostoria. He told me he heard there might be 20k people. Hard to believe that engine is that popular. Hot take; but I like the 844 better.

Out at that job that didn’t cancel today. Nice lake out in the woods by the tracks. Big dam remnants by the tracks built around 1917. The drivers tell me that Hell’s angels used to party back there in the 70’s. Supposedly 4 headless bodies were found out there. Super interesting.

Last few days I’ve been halfway to a job that keeps canceling. I get to claim the hours though. Tonight it’s raining hard. I can’t help but feel like they’re gonna cancel again. But you never know either. Sometimes you get surprised.
