New coworker’s first question was about AI policy. I looked at my lead like this dude had 3 heads and I think he was just as concerned. We work with a lot of sensitive data so, putting the wrong thing into a chatbot can land you in court at a minimum… I’m worried he may be bad at the job.

They try so fucking hard to make slop sound like it's some high-quality product too. They know people instinctively don't like it and just want to ease them into maybe accepting it or "giving it a chance."

3: Telling me that the ADA, the law that means I get these accommodations, doesn't actually say that they need to prove an undue hardship, but only that they collaborate with me on what accommodation I get. The text is quite clear actually. I have included the relevant piece here:

(A) not making reasonable accommodations to the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified individual with a disability who is an applicant or employee, unless such covered entity can demonstrate that the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the operation of the business of such covered entity; or

(B) denying employment opportunities to a job applicant or employee who is an otherwise qualified individual with a disability, if such denial is based on the need of such covered entity to make reasonable accommodation to the physical or mental impairments of the employee or applicant

Update! I’m on meds now and got accommodation request paperwork in to my job. I requested fully remote, they offered me a desk shade. lol. I said no, they offered me 4 days a month. I said no again. Looking forward to their next offer.

So this is like a mashup of Roleplay, except you've made it antisocial by removing the other people from the interaction, and Television shows, except you've made it antisocial by removing the shared aspect of it. Sidenote: The sausage people that Garry vehemently clung to are AWFUL for marketing. It doesn't matter how YOU feel about it, most people will look at this creature and be turned away because it is especially unattractive.

All that to say, it looks like S&Box has the mentality of copying everything about Roblox without tailoring the development space to mature content and larger projects, which is what you need if you want to make "Roblox for Adults."

They've also gone the wrong direction for monetization, continuing down the Steam Market cosmetics hole, which is great for a visually consistent game, but makes little sense for S&Box. It would've been better to enable developers to monetize via S&Box as the middleman.

And just to be clear, I was a VERY big fan of Garry's Mod. I was deep in the Serious RP rabbit hole for like a decade, which as I understand it, Garry has always disliked all of the RP community, top to bottom, DarkRP to Serious RP.

Hardly survived a day. I read through the reviews, and it's a lot of legitimate grievances. The gamemodes are AI slop, Facepunch is vibe coding (it runs like shit), the monetization scheme is disjointed, and more.
