Shiny new microraptor! It's been a while since I've had a fun, experimental personal project like this. He's got sharp little claws and realistically foldable wings. (I'll be carrying him around at #DinoConUK, not a vendor this year but I can't resist making a new creature to bring along anyway...)

A sparkling plush microraptor with its wings spread. Its plumage is midnight blue with silver glitter, apart from the white chest and two long white tail feathers. The face and feet are bright blue, and the eyes are silver. It has shiny black plastic claws.

reference sheet for two digimon, a demi-devimon with pegasusmon aesthetic named tattlemon, and a bipedal dragon digimon named golden gargoylemon, with the same aesthetic.

text on the image indicates that tattlemon is a rookie that digivolves into pegasusmon and then into golden gargoylemon, that they are the result of a digi-egg/digimental of hope being used to fill in the missing code of a damaged real digi-egg, and that they use primarily light attacks with the occasional dark one, and do not have a weakness OR resistance to light or dark attacks.

i'm seeing a disheartening amount of artists getting very upset while not understanding the terminology at the core of the discussion, so i put this together from what i've learned over the past 20 years in the art community. not interested in debating, just thought it'd be helpful.

tracing is drawing over an image you didn't produce yourself. (the resulting image is not original because you could not have made it without the specific one you traced existing first)

copying is looking at an image and recreating it- tracing it with your eyes. (you may make small alterations here and there, but if you are concentrating really hard on matching your pen to what you see, line per line, that's still copying, aka eye-tracing)

referencing is looking at multiple images to remind yourself how the subject works, and drawing your own image with that knowledge in mind. (you are examining the subject itself, not just the image of it. the exact pose, anatomy, and style of your piece will not be identical to the reference image, and which specific images you reference won't drastically change your resulting picture- it's still entirely your own original work and displays your unique understanding/interpretation of the subject)

'tracing for reference' is tracing an image and breaking it down into different, simpler shapes than directly shown, to understand it better. the resulting traced image is NOT used directly in the finished piece, or copied, but is looked at for a reminder on how the subject works- it is referenced.
