It's Monday ☀️☁️ Feeling overwhelmed by the world and your place in it? Focus on one kindness that you can accomplish. Commit to doing just one thing for your community. Then drink some water, have a snack, and do something kind for yourself, too. K love you bi 💜

They built their new concentration camp in 8 days. They used a dead woman as an incubator. We're less than six months into this administration. Time feels like it's dragging with the weight of all their cruelty, but they're just getting started. Please don't look away.

Saw the most adorable twink at Costco today and when I tell you I had to stop myself from dropping to my knees in the bread aisle Anyway I'm now home chilling in some grey joggers so (Yes, vaguely nerdy twinks are like extremely my type and I will not be judged)

Hearing 🧊 "stats" during the morning news is so genuinely sickening. I can't even call it dystopian because it's happening right now, in every corner of the country. Then followed by news that the gov plans to own the clock app...

Important book update 📚🌈 Follow my author account if you like: @briartownsend.bsky.social

A text box over a rainbow background that reads:
Book announcement: check back on 6 January
Book release: 13 January
Exciting news all around!

Text that reads: in the midst of...everything, I've spent the last several months becoming an Indy author. I've invested in myself and my books with my energy, my time, and my money. The election was actually what put this fully into action, but more on that another time. On Monday I'll be sharing about my first officially published work over on my author account. I write and publish under a pen name: Briar Townsend official

Text that reads: I'll still share some updates on this account, but all official news, dates, etc will be through my writing account. I'm Briar Townsend on all socials for my books. Nonfiction/gay history will remain with Unscattered Horizons. Websites for both are in progress as I learn how to build one of those lol but the domains are mine so it's just a matter of making them usable.

Just purchased a handful of ISBNs etc, meaning I'm very close to having books actually available to purchase. I've learned a lot during this process and spent a significant amount of money, but I have no doubt it will be worth it. Can't wait to have official release dates :)

It's sort of unreal the difference between how long it takes me to write a book and how long it takes someone to read it. Something I'm viscerally aware of as a reader now that I know the other side of the coin better.
