I cynically joke about companies wanting to use LLMs because they don’t know how to build a proper UI, but actually this is a perfect use case

The Limits of Data
Policymakers want to make decisions based on clear data, but important factors are lost when we rely solely on data. A philosopher writes:

A guy flipped me the bird in traffic 3 days ago and I'm still thinking about it. His was an overly aggressive amount of finger waving given the horn but then it turns out I was wrong and shouldn't have honked bc what he did was legal. Let it go brain!!

I got this working and it feels so magical. Was able to update some data pipelines just by asking Claude. FastMCP was great - the browser based debugger helped tremendously. I had Claude write the whole server . py file (with a few changes) after feeding it our openapi spec and the fastMCP readme.

Had a double AI fail today. Fireflies crapped the bed and didn't actual record anything and Granola didn't start as well. A great conversation lost... Terrible timing too b/c I then immediately had to step away to pick up kids so now I'm trying to remember everything an hour after the call 😭

Weird how apple intelligence just... isn't that useful. I use AI on the desktop all the time, and I'd rather use the claude or chatgpt apps than Siri. I'm guessing they'll catchup at some point but it's pretty meh right now

I think nearly all tech/data advice should be couched in the size of the org. When I reflect on the "Run your data team like a product team" advice, we should've been way more explicit about org size (i.e. more relevant for >1000)
