I will acknowledge that the attempted merger in 2021 may have complicated communication channels. The fact that I wasn't given an opportunity to resolve any issues, either by communicating with the IRS or correcting the return, does not mean clients were not harmed.

I'm aware of a post currently circulating about my firm. I'm not going to deny the claims made in the post, but I can't confirm them either. I have not been made aware of any of the issues claimed by the clients. This is not a place for excuses, so I will not offer any.

This means that if you are paper filing returns, you need to have it in the mail THREE DAYS before April 15th!! This also applies to responses to letters from the IRS. Make sure you don't get bit with a late filing penalty!!

Any such discourse has not been brought to my attention! There was a period where I had attempted to merge with an accounting firm in Seattle, but they ultimately decided that I wasn't a fit for their firm. The Twitter account's closure was related to that.

Think about deferred sole proprietorships! (The case I've most frequently recommended EFTPS to) I also think about stock traders/individuals with heavy investment strategies. IRS Direct Pay is awful for both of these individuals, as it doesn't provide a record of payments, only confirmation.

IMPORTANT NEWS As of October 17th, individuals will no longer be able to create new EFTPS accounts. Individuals are being encouraged to enroll in IRS Online Accounts. In 2026, all individuals will be required to transition away from EFTPS.

Business taxes: Research and equipment expenses may now be claimed at 100% rather than being amortized. Many of the Green tax credits passed in 2022 are revoked. Electric vehicles, solar panels, home EV charging equipment, among them.

Ability to deduct up to $10,000 of interest on new auto loans. Any loan taken out after Dec 31 2024 qualifies. State and Local Tax (SALT) are expanded from $10,000 to $40,000. As SALT makes up the majority of the average taxpayer's itemized deduction, that's alot.

No taxes on tips, up to $25,000, or overtime pay, up to $12,500. There's a mild increase to the Child Tax Credit, from $2,000 to $2,200. The refundable portion ($1,700) remains unchanged. Charitable contributions return as a non-itemized deduction, up to $1,000 single/$2,000 joint.
