Green party seem to have folded to a bit of media pressure to suspend a trans woman for standing in an internal election to a women's role. If you are a GP member and want to voice your objection: WWW. TINYURL.COM/4S4EBUN3
| can confirm that | have indeed been suspended from the Green Party. The only reason given for my immediate suspension is that allegedly ‘brought the party into disrepute’ by choosing to run for a reserved female space on Green Party Council as a trans woman. In the Greens, suspensions are not a guilty verdict. | was not found guilty of breaking any rules whatsoever. The only actual disciplinary allegations against me are that | allegedly was rude to people on the
internet, and that I ‘gossiped’. I was not suspended for any of this.
The only reason given for my IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION was:

"EF’s recent election to GPC and the accompanying media interest”
| was suspended just 8 days after being elected, in a secret group
chat discussion which included just 13 of the 36 members of GPC.
My critics submitted 100 pages of transphobic articles as ‘evidence’,
while | was banned from submitting anything in my defence and was
not allowed to see the charges. There was no investigation and no
formal hearing. | was simply told that | had ‘brought the party
into disrepute’ by being elected to a women’s role whilst trans.
My suspension was immediately leaked to the Daily Mail by the party.
In my suspension email, the party sent me a link to a suicide hotline.
(Page 1 out of 2)
So, what happens next?

Because | have not been found guilty of any disciplinary offences whatsoever, the only ‘appeal’ process for suspension involves asking Green Party Council to reverse their decision. This is something I have to do, so please do not email or harass any Council members. That is not going to help anybody, and I strongly discourage anyone from contacting GPC members individually. I do not want you to do that.

However, I know many people want to help. Please repost

this statement to help clear my name. If you are a Green:

Suspension decisions can be reversed if GPC considers that there are ‘mitigating’ circumstances. This can include representations from other party members, submitted as part of the official process. | have therefore set up an online form where fellow Green members can submit statements expressing support for me and defending me.

Please put your name and local party so it is accepted by GPC.
WWW. TINYURL.COM/4S4EBUN3

It is my hope that with enough attention and support, GPC will hold a full meeting with a large turnout of all GPC members (rather than a small minority) that will overturn my suspension swiftly. Meanwhile, | will of course comply with the details of my suspension, which include being banned from the party’s October conference. I remain a member of GPC and will resist any attempts to annul the votes of the 800 members who elected me in a free and fair ballot.

No! Not just trans people ; If the problem is that you are banning someone you suspect of being trans, then ANYONE can be banned. The headline should be "ALL UK people could soon be banned from facilities if they are suspected of being trans" .

a picture of wes streeting. I mean, I would describe him, but as the post says he is average in every way. His face looks average, average nose size, average hair cut, non-distinct jawline, I can't even see where it is, he ios wearing a suit, an average one of course. Its a white man, with blue/grey/greenish eyes, hard to tell, he is so non-distinct.

We should not be arresting people for hateful things they say online.

mistake.

So virgin Active are changing their bathrooms to be divided by "biological sex"? I hope lots of people write them a letter like this (full text for copy pasta is in the ALT text of the image) Their email is info@virginactive.co.uk
I am writing to respectfully request clarification your recently updated policy on the use of changing rooms based on "biological sex."

As a member with a complex set of biological characteristics, I am unclear on how this policy is to be interpreted and applied in practice. To ensure my continued safe and equitable access to your facilities, I would be grateful if you could provide detailed answers to the following questions:

What criteria are used to determine "biological sex"? For example, is it based on genetic composition, hormonal profile, or genital configuration?

Do you require members to provide proof of their "biological sex," or is this determined by “Self-ID”?

If proof is required, what specifically eg birth certificate, genital inspection, genetic test

Which of your facilities and services would I be restricted from?

Which facilities would be available to me?

What measures have you put in place to ensure the safety and dignity of all members, particularly those who may be perceived as not conforming to binary sex stereotypes? I am interested in preventative actions, rather than recourse after an incident.

Have you conducted a formal risk assessment and compatibility review to ensure this policy aligns with relevant UK legislation, including the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA)?

Please could you answer quickly as I cannot use your services until you do, because of a protected characteristic, which is discrimination under the equality act.

Posting on Instagram on Wednesday night, Michelle directed a message to “my LGBTQ+ fans, and especially the trans community”.

“I want to speak directly to the concerns that have been raised about my involvement in this project,” she began. “I hear you, and I understand why this is painful for many. I want to be clear that I stand with trans people, and I support trans rights – fully and without hesitation.

“When I accepted this role, I did so as someone who has always loved the stories and what they meant to so many – especially those who found comfort and identity in that world. I now understand more clearly how deeply complicated and hurtful this association can feel, and I take that seriously.

“Being an ally means listening even when it’s uncomfortable and taking accountability where it’s needed. I’m committed to doing both.”
