Orktober Goals: To get my 2,000 points of Orks, 79ish models, battle ready. Paint, based, and magnetized for easy transport by Halloween. 2.6 models a day, but a couple of those models are a Kill Rig and Hunta Rig, so best not to leave those till the 31st! #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Another miniature revisited in my Soulblight Gravelords, adding the highlights to my Wight King on skeletal steed has made the decrepit ruler stand out. Running out of time, so now focusing on the more unfinished models before basing the lot, magnetizing along the way. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

More work to my Blood Knights last night, then I moved on to my Barrow Guard in the morning. One episode of 40K in 40minutes later and.. yeah, 11 models plus two banners with added red highlights. I also have to put them on 28.5mm bases, but that comes later. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

A named Seraphon on a Quetzalcoatlus-esque Terradon is an auto-buy for me, as I’ve wanted more named heroes and a noteworthy force multiplayer for the flying unit. That said, the article appears to be alluding to an event called “the Fall”. Ominous. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

I have been a fan of Warhammer, Fantasy & 40K, since I first saw the miniatures in a Citadel catalogue in the 90s. Of course being a kid during those years means I love the Legion of the Damned. Bones, flames, ghosts, they are what the morbid corners of my soul crave. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

My proper Ork Warboss arrived today, making me want Orktober to roll around so I can paint ‘em up. Happy the original owner separated the squig, will make a great token. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

3 Fellbats join the repainted ranks of my Soulblight Gravelords. These took a lot longer to stipple than I thought they should. Vampires stealing my time seems on point. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

More Soulblight Gravelords given attention beyond their original contrast paint. (Re)Basing for the army will happen at the end of this process, many of these to receive some autumn leaves. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Wanting to participate in orktober this year means getting my Halloween themed project done by this month’s end. I’ve started by revisiting 2 incredible Vampires, models I wanted to elevate from my quick paint job for ages now. There are more in dire need of attention. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

A battle of Age of Sigmar Path to Glory today and I remain undefeated, but not sure how many more games are ahead of us. Tzeentch doesn’t seem to have any tools to deal with the Orruks and the Sylvaneth are having similar issues. The Helsmiths was a scary fight though. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

No pics from yesterday’s game, I got a bit overwhelmed by the rules, even made a major blunder of treating an enhancement as an army-wide rule… I’ve been playing Warhammer games since the 90s, but even now I can feel like a novice. 😔 #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Finally going to be playing a game of Warhammer 40K 11e this Thursday, so it’s time to finish painting my Carnifex duo and base my unbased Tyranids. This is my progress before work, tonight I prep the bases with 3D printed bits and epoxy clay as needed. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Today was hectic. I got to the FLGS which I placed a preorder for 2 Exodite boxes, the same store that told me I was the 1st to place an order, only to tell me I was actually the 10th in spot and they sold out before me. Luckily another store had one left. I got it. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

I want to have a ridiculously large amount of terrain painted and ready to field all the ludicrous scenarios in my head for wargaming (ttrpgs would be nice too). There’s nothing like being able to actually see the locales of these epic encounters while throwing dice. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

This was rough. I didn’t bother trying to preorder the Killteam Exodite box through GW, so I waited for my usual online retailer. I refreshed the page till it was available, put the order in under 20 seconds and… …sold out before completing. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

I haven’t been posting many WIP pics of my Ironjawz as of late, but tonight I found myself proud of my progress. The new 5 Brutes have improved over the prior 5, which means I somehow stumbled into becoming a better painter, even if just a mere step forward. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Battle 2 in the Path to Glory game vs the Sylvaneth was another victory for my Ironjawz. This was a scary army to face, the Calvary they bring to battle is no joke. As of our four battles I am no undefeated, but I still have to face one new army… Helsmiths of Hashut. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Saturday afternoon I had my first AoS Path to Glory game in the Ravaged Coast (FINALLY!!!). My 980 pts of Ironjawz faced my friend’s Disciples of Tzeentch force and… we won without losing a unit. My MVP was my Anvil of Apotheosis hero, a Priest on Maw-Grunta(ish). #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Emberstone and flames are now lit with various shades of orange and the turf has been given some muddy patches. Green wash to a few wood and stone features too. Next I glue on the models and then do the detail paint work (or flat out finish a few). #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

I may be a huge fan of Warhammer models, but every so often I go looking for something that fits the army vibe better. Archon Studio’s Baef is perfect for my woodland hunter Slaves to Darkness army. Needs a base adjustment, but otherwise a robust Daemon Prince proxy. #warhammercommunity #nerdlings

Camp Backlog Days 4-6: Working on 1500+ pts of Ironjawz is time consuming, but I’m just getting to the point where I layer on the green skin. TBH, I hate the blocking stage of batch painting, I much prefer giving models proper attention to detail, so now it gets fun! #warhammercommunity #nerdlings
