fallacy insilicate (rather than incarnate). However if digital feudalism is the aim, financial viability is a bonus, not a necessity.

AI's financial viability is unproven. They're building datacentres like crazy because performance improvements need exponential increases in memory/processing. If models undetectable to humans cost too much to operate, the house of cards collapses under its $trillions in debt. It's the sunk cost

Is anyone weirded out by the fact that Windrip and Trump are synonyms?

It's a set of three: the third is the genus Aterigena.

Tim @tavdy.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
It's probably a giant house spider (Eratigena atrica) but could be a cardinal (Tegenaria parietana). They're closely related, which is why the genus names are anagrams.

I once had an abstract idea about shoving him through a woodchipper. If Alito were a wise man, he'd've gone out of his way to ensure it remained an abstract idea. He is not a wise man.

The German system was changed by bombing until the rubble bounced. The Japanese system was changed by the most destructive weapons ever used in war. Carthage was wiped out; Poland-Lithuania was dismembered *twice*. A system so rigid it's incapable of internal change is a threat to its own citizens.

The lack of Canadian travellers no doubt means U.S. border control has more time on their hands, and you know what the devil does with idle hands.

One day those solar panels will be shading bikes, not cars. Humans are good at adapting infrastructure like that.

Ok, so i wont repost the massive Sandie Peggie V RCN tribunal thread again, i'll just add a few choice nuggets from GC Lawfarepalooza here. The last couple of days brought the actual RCN rep out for evidence. It was clear, concise and simple to follow.

The war will be over when Iran decides that it is over. Iran does not trust Trump or his minions, so I doubt meaningful negotiations can start as long as they remain in office.

Normally the way you recognise a video is AI that the person doesn't look, move, or sound quite human. In this case, since it's Thiel, it's the other way round: the real thing is so deep into Uncanny Valley that if it seems human, it's gotta be AI. This also applies to Musk and Zuckerberg.

Criminalising asexuality goes a step further. It allows the state to force people to have sex when they don't want it. It is state-mandated rape.

The economic & military advice was given by cherry-picked yesmen. Trump's put himself into the same position of ignorance as Putin prior to the 2022 Special Military Operation. If oil prices continue to go up, the bodycount will be comparable too - and they'll mostly be Trump-worshippers.

Mitch McConnell ran the Republican party for years before Trump took over. The only reason Trump has been able to do so much damage is because McConnell laid the groundwork - and the landmines. He is the architect of the abuse he's now being subjected to.

The only evidence I've seen is that her statement is true: an organisation of TERFs expelled from GPEW actively worked to get him elected. Yes, it's circumstantial - but would they have campaigned for him if he wasn't an activist TERF?

explanation is that the GPEW has yet again failed to prevent a bigot from being elected to a position of power within the party, and he intends to use his position to isolate, silence, &/or oust trans activists. That is not something we can afford to tolerate. I joined because of the party's strong

To be defamation it has to be false. I see no evidence that it was, especially since the ostensible reason for the suspension is something that should have been considered resolved three weeks ago, and therefore not a valid reason for suspension. Under the circumstances, the only plausible

He can only sue the TERF if he knows who she is. AFAIK his employer isn't permitted to give him that information under the DPA. Incidentally, the DPA also bans his employer from telling his coworkers he's trans - which his employer did by forcing him to use the women's toilets against his will.

Tim @tavdy.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
IIRC, under UK data protection legislation an employer cannot inform a trans person's colleagues that they are trans. It could be argued that forcing a trans person to use the opposite-gender facilities against their will counts as doing so.
