A doodle of Tatchy, an anthropomorphic echidna, being towered over by Weg. Tatchy's slightly smaller than usual here, so his snout is resting just below Weg's belly. He looks up, blushing and with shiny eyes, telling him, "I-I'll help you out."

Every time I look at a new photo of Mark Carney, I just think of this one Roald Dahl page. I'm not joking when I say that I feel physically repulsed by how corrupted his face looks
Why would that happen? I'll tell you why.
If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until it gets so ugly you can hardly bear to look at it.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.

Impact of Iraq's Mine Warfare

Although the Iraqi minefields were not placed to maximize their effectiveness and many mines were deployed improperly, mine warfare had a considerable effect on Coalition maritime operations in the Persian Gulf. Kuwait's relatively short coastline, combined with the large Iraqi mine inventory, caused the Coalition MCM forces to plan and conduct MCM operations in support of an amphibious landing through dense minefields while vulnerable to missile, artillery, and small boat attacks from fortified beaches. Considering hydrographic and operational characteristics, an amphibious landing probably could only occur between Kuwait City and Ras Al-Qul'ayah, along 30 miles of coastline.

Many deployed mines lacked sensors or batteries which prevented their proper operation. During MCM operations, 95 percent of the UDM-type acoustic influence mines were evaluated as inoperable. Several moored contact mines were recovered on the bottom and apparently 13 percent of the moored mines broke away from their moorings. However, even the poorly planned and improperly deployed minefields caused damage to two combatants and were one of several reasons the amphibious invasion was not conducted. (Other factors, such as collateral damage to Kuwait's infrastructure, risks to the landing force, and lack of a MARCENT requirement for a coastal supply route, are discussed in this chapter's
Amphibious Warfare section.)

A black and white pencil drawing of an anthropomorphic male capybara, Connor, dressed in a formal suit with a green jacket, white undershirt, and black pants. Sporting a bowtie and a yellow flower in his pocket, he places his right hand up against a side of his face that is hidden from the viewer, with his left hand tucked behind his body. He looks a bit shy, but is still pretty happy.

Here's a comic that's from after when the Titanic sank. The Outbursts of Everett True for May 29, 1912
Panel 1: A smiling man with a large polka-dotted suit and his hands inside his pockets is talking to Everett, who is holding his umbrella and a cigar.
The man says, "I heard a good joke the other day about the sinking of the Titanic. Listen–"

Panel 2:
Everett then drops his umbrella as he grabs the man by the arms, turns him upside down, and then slams him head-first onto the sidewalk, making the man's hat fly off.
Everett says, "What a nice subject to joke about!! Now joke about THIS for a while!!!"

Panel 2:

Here's a version with more detailed alt text.
The opening page to the very first edition of Encyclopaedia Britannica. Note that this transcription has altered any archaic spellings of words to the modern ones. The title reads:

"Encyclopaedia Britannica; or, a Dictionary of Arts and Sciences, compiled upon a new plan. In which The different Sciences and Arts are digested into distinct Treatises or Systems; and The various Technical Terms, etc. are explained as they occur in the order of the Alphabet."

Note that in the above title, a signature belonging to James Fullerton is at the top of the page, the individual words separated by the "or, a" text.

Below this title is a notice surrounded by two thin bars above and below it, reading "Illustrated with one hundred and sixty copperplates."

Below that notice is a simple credit with a thin black bar beneath it, reading "By a Society of Gentlemen in Scotland."

Below that credit are two additional notices, also separated by black bars, reading "In three volumes" and "Vol. 1."

Below the abbreviated volume notice are two thin black bars put close together, dividing it from one last notice about the publishing information, reading "Edinburgh. Printed for A. Bell and C. Macfarquhar; and fold by Colin Macfarquhar, at his Printing-office, Nicolson-Street."

Lastly, there is a short thin black bar at the bottom; below that are the Roman numerals "MDCCLXXI," indicating a publishing year of 1771.

MYSELF AS A SANDSLASH

(Illustration of OC)
- Male symbol
- Normal colours (not shiny).
- Hoodie does not go on spikes, only covers chest and upper body.
- Black shorts, two red stripes.
- Light grey hoodie attached to shoulder spikes with dark rope straps. See pointing arrow.
- Glasses have a chain attached to the bottom left corner of the left lens that is tucked into the hoodie. This holds them on his face.
- The hoodie straps do nothing. The rectangle shape is a pocket that is open from the sides and leads to the same space, no dividers.
- Spikes are slightly dulled to reflect a more home-grown life.

A panel from a 'The Outbursts of Everett True' comic, dated September 11, 1914. Everett has slammed down a man standing to his left with only his left arm, while glancing at the man as he is positioned toward the reader. The man has dropped a newspaper, and appears mildly shocked.

Everett says, "Yes, those millionaires are to be pitied! Whenever I think about it I become so wrought up I just can't contain myself!!"

Reposting with alt text.
For reference: Sandslash is a bipedal yellow mammalian creature, or Pokémon, with large brown spikes all across its back and sharp claws on its limbs. It is capable of curling into a ball.

The image itself depicts two Sandslashes, one rolled up and being rapidly pushed to the left. This individual has metaphorical smoke emanating from it, representing building anger. The other Sandslash is on the right of the image, pushing it with its front claws and running joyfully, with an expression to match. The ground itself appears to be grassy.Similar to image 1, but with a different composition, owing it to being a concept sketch. The action is happening at a slower pace, with various notes surrounding the two characters. They serve as instructions and notes for the artist, John Fountain.

Two notes are attributed to the curled-up Sandslash. One near the top reads, "emphasize 'sharp,' almost angrily so. About to pop." The other note, near the bottom, reads, "ball could maybe be slightly larger?" A question mark is at the end of the second note.

Three notes are attributed to the pacing Sandslash. One near the top reads, "spines should be relaxed, I just sketched the models." A note near the Sandslash's front claws reads, "alternating hands." The note near the Sandslash's abdomen reads, "white belly, not error."
