Don't see RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) today. Would be the second straight #Commanders practice he's missed.

#Commanders WR Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is stretching with the team today. He also did that last week so we'll see what his involvement in practice is.

The #Commanders are now up to three people who've solely taken the blame for the final sequence against the Giants: Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels and David Blough. While no one is *actually* solely to blame, that's reflective of the truth: Everyone is at fault for what happened.

Time travel doesn't exist yet — and the undefeated 49ers are next on the docket — so the #Commanders have no choice but to move on. Here are some X-factors to monitor ahead of their trip to San Francisco: www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2026/...

#Commanders QB Jayden Daniels already said "ultimately, it's on me" when he spoke Sunday, but he's been more assertive today in taking the blame for what happened against the Giants. He said he — along with Dan Quinn — addressed the team about that directly. They're moving on.

#Commanders HC Dan Quinn said LB Jordan Magee (hamstring) will return to practice today. He added that CB Trey Amos (ankle), S Nick Cross (internal) and Jeremy McNichols (quad) will be full practice participants after they were limited and didn't play last week.

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Just asked Quinn about this. He said he didn't like the lack of urgency, but didn't specify whether the players were unaware of them having zero timeouts or how much time was left.

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

When asked whether he's had conversations with Josh Harris about his job security, Quinn said they're in constant communication, generally speaking. He didn't specify whether they talked about his job security.

Quinn said that he doesn't have any worries about losing the locker room or having the team turn on one another after last night. He met with the team earlier today.

#Commanders HC Dan Quinn said he's "furious" about the team's execution late against the Giants. He added they didn't intend to take that long to snap the ball before their final play. "We've got a lot of shit to clean up on," he said.

030

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Something we still haven't gotten a clear answer on: If the #Commanders knew they had no timeouts, then why was there no urgency to get set after Daniels was sacked? Daniels didn't move until he looked over and saw the coaches reacting. His teammates didn't seem aware either:

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

On Nabers' TD, the #Commanders sent a 5-man pressure with off man coverage. Sainristil opened up his hips, which left him unable to recover when Nabers turned the route inside. Poor technique by Mikey, but I still don't like allowing free releases there to begin with:

041

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Still don't get the #Commanders' approach on Likely's second TD. It's 4th-and-8. They sent a 6-man pressure, which is fine, but they were playing off coverage, which gave Likely and Nabers free releases. Robertson both went with Nabers, which left Likely wide open.

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

#Commanders coverage stats of note per NFL Pro: - CB Rasul Douglas: 7 catches, 82 yards, 1 TD - CB Mike Sainristil: 4 catches, 69 yards, 1 TD - LB Sonny Styles: 4 catches, 46 yards, 1 TD - CB Fabian Moreau: 4 catches, 33 yards - CB Amik Robertson: 3 catches, 30 yards

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

The #Commanders' defense blitzed on 39% of the Giants' dropbacks per NFL Pro, but didn't have as much success. They had just two sacks and a pressure rate of 33.9%. That helped Jameis Winston light up the secondary for 326 yards and 3 TDs.

001

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

The #Commanders were blitzed on 59.5% of their drop backs against the Giants, per NFL Pro. They allowed a pressure rate of 37.8% and 5 sacks. They struggled in pass protection all game and had no answers for New York's heat.

020

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

The #Commanders defense was playing so well to start the game. It feels like part of the second-half collapses is their lack of depth. They were down three safeties, their top corner, two linebackers and two rotational defensive linemen. Fatigue sets in eventually.

Commanders can’t make up ground in NFC East after calamitous tie vs. Giants

Washington settles for a 27-27 stalemate after letting the clock expire before attempting a game-winning field goal.

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

"After the first down run, we were still trying to gain more for the kick. The right call was, honestly, we can go clock it early and don't put ourselves in that spot. That's my responsibility. Nobody else's."

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

#Commanders HC Dan Quinn: "Leaving tonight with a tie feels like a loss. The last sequence, you throw it out of bounds or you clock it and you give yourself a chance to kick it. ...

152

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

To recap, the final play call from the #Commanders had two reads: Throw to the outside or clock it. It remains unclear why Daniels didn't do that. And, as Quinn acknowledged, they should've just kept it simple and spiked the ball.

371

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Quinn said, in retrospect, the #Commanders should've just spiked the ball and attempted the field goal. He said they were trying to gain more yardage.

561

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

#Commanders HC Dan Quinn said the intent on the final play was to throw the ball out of bounds, but he took responsibility for what happened

011

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

#Commanders QB Jayden Daniels on the sequence to end the game: "It's on me." When asked if they knew they were out of timeouts, he said the offense should've done a better job of communicating that.

052

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

There's a few explanations: - Daniels didn't know the #Commanders had zero timeouts - Dan Quinn didn't know they had zero timeouts - Daniels wasn't aware of how much time was left None of them are acceptable.

95814

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

That's just completely inexplicable. The #Commanders were in FG range, but ran a play with the clock dangerously low and no TOs remaining. Daniels was tackled and the clock ran out before they could stop it. They go from potentially winning the game to tying with the Giants.

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Reaves dropped the pick. Damn.

030

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

On 4th-and-5, the #Commanders take the delay of game penalty. They'll punt.

000

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Dyami Brown fumbled after the catch, but the #Commanders recovered. It'll be 4th down.

040

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Winston's pass falls incomplete on 3rd-and-8. The Giants' ensuing FGA is NOT good.

010

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

And on 3rd-and-10, Winston scrambles for the first down.

110

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

That's a massive facemask penalty on the #Commanders. The Giants are already in Washington territory.

010

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Looked like some kind of miscommunication there. Daniels pass didn't land near anyone. #Commanders will punt.

020

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

We're tied at 27 with 1:43 to go. #Commanders offense has two timeouts to try to go get the W.

111

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Sheesh. Malik Nabers makes an incredible grab for a TD. Good coverage, but better offense.

Tashan Reed @tashanreed.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Javon Kinlaw was shaken up after that first down by the Giants.
