The Great Orion Nebula, M42 (Core Region) This image reveals the star-forming core region of the Orion Nebula (Messier 42). The Trapezium Cluster, a young open star cluster, is visible in the center of the image. The stars in the Trapezium are no greater than 300,000 years old.
