thats what i was afraid of. I run at high speed all the time anyhow. i do have this delay unit that has this super neat filter that i put before the input that gives it an aged sound without going to a low speed

Nice! I wish i could find my old tapes. They were mostly 90minutes tho. i just got 6x 60 minute sealed Maxell XL60 last night on ebay. That should keep me going for a bit

I hated it until i started using a analog 4 track and i got actual dials to play with. Totally inside a DAW is not my thing

Even though this article left off on of my fave ambient folk albums (The Dreamies "Auralgraphic Entertainment") its a great read. One that you can really find out about some excellent, obscure artists and some nice historical context. Thanks @thetonearm.com for posting it

It's a fair point. If we are jealous of other countries, it's for our elections, if anything. The idea that the majority of Americans can vote for something or someone & still lose is infuriating. I guess there are lots of reasons to hate America but our voting system holds us hostage

Oh, that's true but it's never turned into animus. We just are told (same as the UK) that the standard of care is lower, wait times are longer, & our health care is better (if you have it). Same can be said about vacation time. You guys get it, we don't & somehow we convinced ourselves that's fine

Honestly, this is new from Republicans. Neither party really ever said or did anything like this before that I can recall. Same thing now with Greenland. All of a sudden, Trump just wanted to take their stuff & Canada had other ideas oddly enough.

I'm not sure that's the best analogy. The vast majority of Americans either like Canada or have no opinion. Trump is at new levels of insane atm. We are at unprecedented levels of stupid now

American here. While I think a lot of us are insensitive & kinda rude, the overall volume of life here is very intense. Our baseline is much higher. Going to Europe you notice how much quieter & chill things are. Most of us adapt but it's not our default generally speaking

After listening to this, it seems to me that Daniel Ash of Bauhaus really had a lot of his sound rooted in the early Floyd/Syd style. Both are super idiosyncratic & use the guitar in a way that sets them apart. If you listen to "Dark Entries" you can really hear it youtube.com/watch?v=126y...

It's just people I see on here I know who are 100% non MAGA & actively against it, using the same flawed logic but applied to both soccer and how they feel the rest of the world conducts themselves in tricky ethical situations

I never thought soccer would be the thing that made me see this so clearly, but I fear we are really done. Using MAGA logic to defend a position on a sport most of them know like zero about. "Other countries would do it" & "FIFA is corrupt anyway" are just lame. It's like trying to find more votes

Yes, that sucked and was wrong (and widely discussed) but that was in qualifying, not in the cup itself. No matter what, this was really unfortunate, and both Trump & FIFA are the ones truly responsible.
