The 60-day rule was an internal policy that of course this DOJ was going to ignore, but the policy only mattered when the DOJ was seen as trustworthy. They aren’t anymore, so they can’t do the kind of damage the policy was designed to prevent. (They can do other damage for sure.)

There is a person close to me who emigrated when he was 12 and his dad did all the paperwork. His country of birth has no record of his citizenship being revoked. It’s very possible he’s been here for almost 6 decades illegally. He’s white though, so….

I can't say I know enough about the sentencing rules in TN (I'm a lawyer here, but not that kind), but if there were improperly unconsidered mitigating circumstances like a lifetime of abuse, they should look at what the sentencing guidelines were at the time.
