The next time a Russian missile flies into a children's hospital or a drone strikes the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, know that it was not only the Russians who did it, Trump did it too.

Trump did not just stop military aid to Ukraine, he stopped the supply of air defense systems, and literally gave permission for the Russians to continue massive shelling of Ukrainian cities. Trump does not want peace, Trump wants Ukrainians to cease to exist.

Putin said that he is ready to negotiate with the United States to cut military budgets by 50% - easy for him to promise, since Ukraine has already cut the Russian army by 50%.

Therefore, without the EU lifting its sanctions, the lifting of U.S. sanctions will still not allow Russia to fully restore its economy. Europe must stand firm and not make concessions to Trump.

The US total goods trade with Russia were an estimated $3.5 billion in 2024. The US goods exports to Russia in 2024 were $526.1 million, down 12.3% ($73.5 million) from 2023. The US goods imports from Russia totaled $3.0 billion in 2024, down 34.2% ($1.6 billion).

Trump ridiculously writes about some incredible prospects for economic cooperation between the US and Russia. However, unlike Europe, which accounted for 35% of Russia's exports, the US has never been a major trading partner for Russia. Russia has nothing to offer the US market.

Imagine that at the end of World War II, instead of the Marshall Plan, the United States would have demanded compensation from Europe in the form of half of its natural resources. Back then, the world was lucky to have defeated Hitler and not to have a US president like Trump.

The most difficult thing now is to make the EU finally realize that they are a superpower and can pursue their policies and confront Russia, China, and even the United States if necessary.

The latest sociological survey shows that the level of trust of Ukrainians in President Zelenskyy in February 2025 is at 57%, which is higher than it was in December 2024. This is higher than the level of trust Americans have in President Trump.

During this war, no one gave Ukraine a high chance of survival, they gave it three days, a week, a month, a year. But against all odds, Ukraine is still standing. Trump may start helping Putin, but Ukrainians will still fight.

Lavrov lied about Russia not going to attack Ukraine, then lied about there being no massacres of Ukrainians by Russian soldiers in Bucha. Lavrov generally lies when he just opens his mouth. For Musk, this is an example of a competent leader because Musk himself is a liar.

In all this situation, at least no one can say that Ukraine did not fight. Even without entering the war, the United States capitulated to Russia.

The Russians returned one American hostage to the United States and at the same time killed one civilian in Kyiv and wounded a child. Just a week ago, Trump boasted that Putin wants to stop the war because he is worried that people are dying.

It is very interesting how Russian propagandists will explain to their audience that Putin praises Trump, but Trump literally says that "we need to lower the price of oil and the war will end immediately," meaning to literally collapse the Russian economy.

Trump hasn't even taken office yet, and he's already managed to anger Canada, threaten Denmark and Panama with military intervention, and repeat Russian propaganda that "Russia attacked Ukraine because of NATO." God save this world from madmen.

Moreover, during the three years of the war, NATO countries did not want to significantly increase the production of artillery shells and other weapons. To say that the focus of Ukraine's allies has changed is a very pathetic self-justification.

Taras Mishchenko @tarasmi.bsky.social · 05/12/2024
Throughout the war, Ukraine's allies have never focused on defeating Russia. On the contrary, Ukraine had to beg for weapons all the time, which were provided very slowly.

A very funny take from Bloomberg: Ukraine’s allies have shifted their focus from seeking a victory to trying to put President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in the best position to counter Russian advances or negotiate a possible ceasefire, people familiar with the matter said.

The truth is that we know that things are bad for the Russians, the Russians know that things are bad for us, and now it's just a matter of who will be the first to flinch. So, the main task for the Russians is to convince everyone that it's the Ukrainians who are doing badly, and they are well.

As soon as the Russians realized that their bluff about a nuclear strike was no longer working, they began new attempts to spin hysteria about the threat of nuclear war between the United States and Russia. They even summoned Carlson to Moscow to listen to the old fool Lavrov.

Looking at the protests in Georgia, I can't help but think that the only thing Russia has to offer is violence. For many people, the EU is associated with prosperity, and people in Georgia actively seek that. But instead of prosperity, they are offered violence, just like in Russia.
