(5) will actually be able to come up with new things, make decisions, edit videos in anyone's style in a tiny fraction of the time, learn the way humans do, etc. It is the real thing to be afraid of, for which we surely would need a basic income guarantee as most human labor becomes uncompetitive

Just to make a record, here are my current thoughts on generative AI: I was initially really excited about it, seeing it as labor-saving for existing creatives. And those use cases are still great, like generative fill in Photoshop. (and the object selection tool, but it still kinda sucks...) (1/2)

Just realized that in this new age of smartphones, the surprise of hearing what you sound like on a recording, compared to what you sound like in your own head, is no longer something that most people will ever experience. I remember hating how I sounded in a recording. My "real" voice is deeper.

Yeah. less can go wrong that way. Premiere loves to make little render mistakes. Tho usually the mistakes are mine. Each 1 hr export is a higher bitrate than usual. Then I reviewed each one, put them in a single 5 hour long timeline, and exported that.

There was a particular song in the Aughts that would play on the radio multiple times a day... I grew to hate it so much that I would go hide in the walk-in fridge and stick my fingers in my ears till it was over. Even if there were customers in line. (If I was working alone, I'd turn off the radio)
