The numbers in this study are extremely disturbing... for everyone. It's appalling how much of this is happening. But particularly for Indigenous women.

Anyway, when you have to pitch AI as this nuanced thing separate from Sam Altman or Anthropic or Copilot or Siri becoming an omniscient panopticon and everything else we hear on the news regularly, you are already in a losing position because those entities have polluted the discourse

It does say a lot about ICE that torture & horseplay needed to be included in the "don't do this" list. At the same time... it is more effective to give ppl what TO DO, rather than what not to do (positive language).

the push for ID checks online is designed to make children easier to target; Meta is one of the companies lobbying for these types of legislation. the whole idea is to continue to target children as a lucrative market by assuring parents that giving children unmanaged tablets is safe.

While the BBC title suggests it was a mistake... someone just figured AI would do the job accurately. ... reason #1 "AI" should be extremely limited to mathematical & hard data analysis. It's shit. Destroys the planet in multiple ways, steals & causes human brainrot.

Pushing unhoused persons into prison just admits that the state should be paying for housing. Can we do that without subjecting innocent people who are just trying to live their lives into forcible confinement as if they're criminals?
