Priest: "All of us are children of Alkrash, Sir Fardon. If your companions seek His mercy, and salvation from The Devourer, they are welcome here."

Fiskul: "Uh, ABOUT that..."

The priest is startled as Fiskul pokes their head into the doorway. He looks at them with a disapproving expression, as if someone with a forked beard and black cape had turned up to Mass.

Priest: "My child, that is an UNFORTUNATE look you have. If that is cosmetic, it is in very poor taste..."

Fiskul: "I've ALWAYS looked like this! May I enter...? I wish to pray to the Great One."

Fardon, feeling very awkward, deposits a coin on the offering plate and scurries away.
Fardon: (Dammit, I'm NOT dealing with THIS right now...)

Mermul looks at Fiskul with concern

Mermul: "Um... this is the house of the GREAT ONE. Can you even ENTER here? Wouldn't it turn you to dust or something?"

Fiskul: "Of COURSE I can!"

Fiskul demonstrates this by trotting into the temple.

I always wondered why my reissue of TombRaider didn't seem to play music. Turns out the audio tracks on the disk are so knackered that even an actual CD player reads them as silence. DOSbox needs bin/cue copies of the disk to play these games - top one is Alone in the Dark, bottom is Tomb Raider.

Two .bin files for playing DOS games with CD audio. Top one is Alone in the Dark, which works perfectly and the music tracks are clearly visible as waveforms to the right.
Bottom one is Tomb Raider where the audio tracks are blank with a few clicks and glitches. The original copy my Dad had would play CD audio back - this one (Sold Out Software) does not.

In a parody of Red-IzaK's "Surprise!" picture, showing, a luck dragon perching on a temple and receiving offerings, Fahdonmul the Skyrim dragon is perched upon the ruins of the Blades' temple which has similar architecture. None of the Blades have brought offerings, which is probably a good thing as they'd try to kill him on sight.

This was made with Play-As-A-Dragon SE and the Bruma mod from Beyond Skyrim, my dragon also has polished claw textures

Jakob: "These bounties... are they paid out? Is money actually changing hands?"
Steve: "Yes, it's held in escrow."

R-ALF: "Escrow?"
Olaf: "The guild wants to be sure they'll be paid, but the client wants to be sure we won't just run off with the money. So a third party, usually a bank, holds the payment."

Jakob: "Some moron put a bounty on his friend for shits and giggles. For a million gold dollars, I think it was."

Jakob: "Said friend lost their head in short order, and of course the prankster didn't have that kind of money in the first place."

Jakob: "He'd not only defrauded the guild and broke contract, but he'd also tricked them into murdering an innocent man. So he was taken to the back room, and hanged like a rogue adventurer. Guilds take things like that VERY seriously."

Jakob: "So we rapidly added support for escrow. That stopped the pranks, as the average guy on the street has to pay upfront for bounty they take out. This... it looks equally serious. I'd better go visit the King."

Xerian and Quirk discuss how they can sabotage the ship's cloaking device.

Xerian: "So, how long will it take you to learn about the cloaking device systems?"
Quirk: "There is a catch. Two, really."

Quirk: "Firstly, since the interesting stuff is on a separate network, we'll need to go to a specific location to access the appropriate data jack. So we'll risk detection just by going there. Hopefully, we'll only encounter a few patrol robots, if we're lucky."

Quirk: "Secondly, while I'm actually hacking the ship, I'll be in a trance-like state. So far I've deliberately stuck to easy targets or bailed out if I can't break through the defences quickly. But finding out about an entire topic like this... that will take time."

Lautrec: "You'll need us to guard you. Xerian won't be much good in a tussle, but he CAN at least warn you while I deal with our enemies, or at least hold them o-"

A blue flash appears behind Xerian, and they all stare at it.

Quirk: "What the..."

When the flash has dissipated, they find Niall lying in a heap on the floor.

Fardon: "This is Mermul, a refugee new to our realm. I am escorting him until he is properly settled."

Fardon: "And... there is also a stranger from the Disputed Lands. He has, um... UNUSUAL beliefs, Father. Perhaps he should not be here...?"

There was a weird hybrid adventure game called Valhalla which used input commands but otherwise behaved rather like a point-and-click. While I was preparing an earlier screenshot, a dragon NPC showed up and one of the dwarven NPCs started beating them up. #Retrogaming

Fardon: "I am a dragon. We can fight our instincts, our desire for domination and the thrill of taking prey, but we cannot suppress it ENTIRELY. Logically, I know that the Hunter's execution was unfortunate but necessary..."

Fardon: "He was not even just a Hunter, but an anti-dragon cultist as well. But... actually taking his life... that... that was... ENJOYABLE."

Fiskul: "You feel guilty because you LIKED it... and you feel you must atone for... for being the way you were made? I DO understand, Sir Fardon... And I'm proud of you for it."
