Early autumn morning in Kamitakano, Kyoto 🍂 I followed the Takano River past sparkling weirs and got lost in the alleys. Morning sun on the water, stone walls, mossy fences, and the moon still hanging in the sky. Getting lost was the best part.

Today along the Takano River in Kyoto: a convoy of 30+ black sound trucks blasting extremely loud speeches. These are Japanese right-wing groups ("uyoku"), registered as political groups. A Communist Party rally was held nearby. Police escorted them; traffic backed up.
