Sehr geehrter Herr Geuter,

My wife bought new salad cutlery and because of the weird number of arms on the fork my first impulse was "that's AI". Which of course doesn't make sense because I was holding the object in my hands.

Like this graphic is complete hogwash. The title makes literally no sense. And the rest is basically: "People slowly adopt technology and integrate it into their life".
Graphic about "AI adoption as transmission mechanism" that basically says nothing but has statements like "Technology defines what is possible."

The "AI Compass" is cute. But I am disappointed not to get put into the "Luddite" group. And I personally wouldn't have made an artist that went all in on NFTs the "patron saint" of "The Conscientious Objector" bambamramfan.github.io/ai-compass
Screenshot of my Result going through the "AI compass". I was assigned the group "The Conscientious Objector" with the description: "It doesn't work well, it's doing real harm, and you've opted out on principle. You're not a technophobe — you just think this specific technology is overhyped and corrosive, and you're tired of being told you just don't understand it. You understand it fine. That's the problem."

[...]

In Yesterday's IO Keynote Google declared war on the remnants of the Web.

While they packaged it as a lot of "AI" talk what their whole approach of decontextualizing information, of taking away links to sources and instead producing some LLM generated response means is that they want to establish a new abstraction layer on the web. Where Zuckerberg with his Metaverse failed Google is starting the next attack: Your website, your work no longer matters.

Well it matters as (unpaid) raw material for their synthetic text extruders but not as cultural artifact you can share with others.

This is a literal revolution but one against the participatory web, against us: The goal is to take away the web and guide people into Google's abstraction on top of it. An abstraction they control and moderate. It's about monopolizing access to information.

If you care about the web, about people's ability to participate in it as more than mere passive consumers, this needs to be taken seriously. De-Googlifying your mental apparatus becomes more urgent today. Find other search engines, don't use their browser. Or wake up in a slopified AOL kind of environment.

The Open Source community never learned that big tech is not trustworthy. Maybe this time? (based on de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Zuckerb…)
Screenshot of a conversaton originally between Mark Zuckerberg and a friend in which Zuckerberg telle the friend that he has all data about anyone at Harvard. When asked how he just says "don't know, people just trust me". The friens has already typed "dumb fucks" into his chat box without having it sent yet.

The image has been edited by me to prsent it as a conversation from github with a friend.
Github asks is the friend ever needs code for their proprietary codebase because github has all the code in the world stripped of its license in an LLM.
The conversation stays as the original: friend asks "how" and github answers "dunno, they just gave it to me, they trust me".

"On the acceptance of GenAI" smallsheds.garden/blog/2026/on-the-…
By using GenAI:
I accept the models were trained on stolen data.
I accept that the data was labeled by exploited workers.
I accept the environmental costs of the data centers running these models.
I accept that I am outsourcing some of my skills to a company.
I accept these companies don’t have a viable business model.
I accept that I am granting more power to big tech and their vision for the world.
I accept that I am granting more power to the United States.
I accept that all this effort could have been spent elsewhere.

If any of these facts are new to you, you haven’t been doing your due diligence.

The goal is to make the "intelligence" in "AI" happen. And that has nothing to do with capabilities. To quote myself from 2019: Intelligence is just the declaration of the right to agency. tante.cc/2019/03/10/w...
“Intelligence” as we use it today is a value judgement by a (sub-)culture’s mainstream. Entities of “intelligence” are not just seen as valuable but are also imbued with the right to agency and autonomy.

Over the course of a few dates, he’d make this mistake often, where he’d talk about Trump in the first person. And I came to realise that while I was trying to separate Jared from who he voted for, he may have been personally struggling to do the exact same thing, just in a very different way. It became clear to me that he truly loved Trump not just because he identified with Trump the politician but because he identified with Trump the person being considered ‘bad’ by progressive standards.

So if your software is not a thing people have already written a lot of times "AI" can't help doing it? I thought for coding it was supposed to be super capable now?
Screenshot of a few tweets by Andrej Karpathy.

First telling he released a new software. He is then asked how much of it was written by "AI".

His response: "Good question, it's basically entirely hand-written (with tab autocomplete). I tried to use claude/codex agents a few times but they just didn't work well enough at all and net unhelpful, possibly the repo is too far off the data distribution."
