To gain the upper hand on the battlefield, the armies of three Great Powers camouflage their tankheads in numerous ways, from painting their units to blend in with the environment to complete ghillie suits.

Recoil is an issue for all Tankheads, but with artillery types it becomes one of the defining factors. The Wespe stabilizes itself for firing by taking on a peculiar squatting pose, resting on its haunches and the stabilizers in its rear skirt. #tankhead #tankheadmecha

Production of the Grant stopped once the Sherman was introduced, but many units still stuck around in the field. During the Kyzerian assault on the Lumpe Line a number of Grants were deployed from ambush locations to make up for the main gun’s limited arc of fire.

Sketches to Final Art Each tankhead design we feature in our book begins as tiny sketches that are about 1 inch square. It is through these tiny sketches that @emersontung is able to evaluate if the idea & visual design is something worth pursuing to bring to a final detailed mecha illustration.

This Panzerkopf V Panther is clad in Zimmerit coating, a compound designed to ward off magnetic explosives. This was especially effective when combined with the tall shin armor of the Panther, offering better protection to vulnerable leg joints that most tankheads did not have.

The Koryu subhead was an absolute terror around rocky coasts. Its legs allowed it to hide in rough waters that no normal vessel could survive. Add to that wickedly barbed harpoons along with the most powerful torpedoes of the Neverwar and you have a nautical nightmare.

Earde had a long history of airship warfare before the Neverwar, and equally well established anti air defenses. Jetheads had to be nimble enough to avoid these weapons before they could fulfill their full potential as weapons of war.
