(This guide was made with vore in mind but you can use it for whatever if it helps!)

There are a few ways I draw saliva depending on the situation.

1: The easiest one is the single or double strand. It’s got an elegant, clean look. Great for subtle teasing. I like to connect it between teeth or a single, thin strand from the corner of the mouth.

2: 2nd is strands drawn over a new layer. Where the base of the saliva connects, I blend the skin into the liquid to give it a translucent feel.
For pieces with depth in them, you can darken the saliva a bit to blend it in more. I usually don’t use pure white for saliva; I gravitate towards a cream or light to mid tone grey. Play around with it and the opacity of it!

3: If I’m working in black and white, or drawing the shapes of the saliva on manually, I like to follow a few common shapes. You can deviate from these of course (and should to keep it organic) but I just drew a few starters. Think of the liquid as something slightly more viscous than water. Sometimes it’s heavy or sticky. Sometimes a pred might have weird saliva but for the sake of simplicity I’m only covering standard drool.

The mouse dangles on the rope over the canine's open maw. After brief hesitation, he lowers her on her tongue. As she slides deeper into his maw, her face shows a bit of apprehension and she clings to the safety rope.

Only the mouse's head is visible in the macro's throat. A swift gulp - and she's gone. The rope tightens as she slides down her friend's throat.

The frames on the left showcase the mouse descending into the macro's stomach. Rythmic thumping of his heart surrounds her as his esophagus squeezes her body.
