Just talked to a very progressive/pro public Ed Harris County D house rep last night (fundraiser), who said the same. Vouchers have them working with Lynn Davenport and her friends who hate vouchers and have consistently pushed against their own party for years. There is common ground on vouchers.

While block walking for school board elections we worked with paid professional very good Dem strategists. Knocking on D doors and were told don’t talk about LGBTQ kids in these neighborhoods with older folks - all races - because they are homophobic as crap. Political strategy is brutal.

I think the campaign is looking for any small movements to nudge a miniscule amount of folks over the edge. Is it worth pissing of a lot of people that will still vote for you in the end? Campaign strategy says yes they will, so nothing to lose here. I hope talarico lost some sleep over this.

Well this is Fox News so he has to play to that audience 😑. Bold choice but even if he pisses off his progressive supporters we will still vote for him. Thats a very deliberate campaign strategy, and so was the decision to go onto Fox News. I hope Talarico loses some sleep over this one tonight.

My vote is baked in already and he doesn’t need to campaign to me nor any voting Democrats at this point. The goal is crossover votes and new voters and a voter like me just isn’t on the radar anymore cause I’m voting D. I get it strategically. I hate it personally, and I will remember this.

Yes it’s good political strategy and I get it, but still feels kind of gross. I also live in Texas and very much am personally invested in showing dignity for our LGBTQ and transgender kids. This is not it, and I think Talarico probably know that. The pressure to win must be immense. I get it.
