went out to the beach today and found a handful of fun shells to paint when I was done swimming

a small detailed watercolor painting of a little purple and white striated oyster shell, side by side with the actual shell

A small detailed watercolor illustration of the pearlescent inside of the flat half of a small oyster shell, mostly creamy white with a soft spot of purple, side by side with the real shell

A detailed watercolor illustration of a long, narrow, very smooth and reflective brown razor clam shell, side by side with the real shell

Photo of the two sketch pages of shell paintings, including a watercolor illustration of a small red rock crab with a tiny cluster of seaweed in its mouth, as well as the brown flaking away to white exterior shell of a varnish clam with a tiny hole drilled into it where it was predated by (most likely) a sea snail

the only art I’ve really managed to make as of late just evolved from a sketch of a unicorn made on a whim and kept getting more and more detailed

digital painting of a dark gray unicorn with a gold horn posed dramatically in front of a distant mountainous backdrop with lightning streaking down from the clouds

onee freshly peeled unicorn, before & after poachers shaved him bald and took his horn trying to decide on coloration+piebald markings for him, tho i like the thought of him being able to embody the look of the classic golden hind beneath his piebalding

this is just a messy little sketch i made during the movie but oooohhh i love a horse with big dangerous canine teeth out for Blood

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 11/08/2025

i watched death of a unicorn last night and the unicorn's design did something to my brain chemistry so i had to yoink it for my own use as ocs, which spiralled into me getting lost all day in the backstory and worldbuilding sauce for these guys

going back to my roots doodling little horses as a warmup, now with added wings

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 10/07/2025

all this because i watched a mourning dove actively trying to kill a crow that was fucking with it in real life and went Im Gonna Make OCs With That Dynamic and audge joined me to make the crow

and then along comes a smug ass thief who steals the artifact you’ve been sealed inside for a millennia and releases you but keeps the artifact for himself so now you’re stuck with him and have also maybe gone a little bit mad from your ages long imprisonment and still Really Want To Kill Things

i was hunting for pose insp to sketch and came across that iconic shot of keanu when he played mercutio in an 80’s production of romeo & juliet and thought it would be a great pose to draw my oc Dove in, only to realize i literally already have. it was like the first pose i ever drew them in

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

ohh wait i remembered i made this quick sketchy anim of wren transforming into his weretiger form, i wanted to show how his tattoo kinda unfurls to envelop him as he changes

160 0

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

he has bewitched me but im not complaining because it's getting me to draw again, so i'll ride this high as far as it will take me

192 0

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

& the resulting aftermath lmao. wren is mouthy and handsy and has no manners, he IS leaving his bed partners covered in an ungodly amount of hickeys and bite marks every time

020 0

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 04/07/2025

oh wait while im on a roll positing wren art, i can't believe i almost forgot about these sketches of him and audge's oc milo that i did semi recently

120 0

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 03/07/2025

ok i thought i was losing my mind bc i could have sworn i had more art of wren than just his og ref image and i did, i just couldn’t find all the sketches at first because 90% of them are him making out sloppy style with rus lmao

tam🌿 @tamthing.bsky.social · 03/07/2025

pushing myself to just try and sketch anything and out came my weretiger wren

today's dnd session was very fun for me because in the middle of an underwater fight against a fucked up poison dragon with psionic powers, my blood hunter got mind controlled & sent after our ranger bc he was doing Big Damage Numbers, & in doing so revealed his secret lycanthropy blood curse :)
