The American Bar Association has just called upon every attorney, regardless of their political views, to join them & stand up for the rule of law & at minimum insist that our government "follow the law." Every lawyer has an ethical responsibility to do so. www.americanbar.org/news/abanews...

We call upon our elected representatives to stand with us and to insist upon adherence to the rule of law and the legal processes and procedures that ensure orderly change. The administration cannot choose which law it will follow or ignore. These are not partisan or political issues. These are rule of law and process issues. We cannot afford to remain silent. We must stand up for the values we hold dear. The ABA will do its part and act to protect the rule of law.

We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law. It is part of the oath we took when we became lawyers. Whatever your political party or your views, change must be made in the right way. Americans expect no less.

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

I was watching on YouTube and the Reps and Senators went to an elevator. The rest were stopped to go through the security entrance. (Metal detectors, etc.) It didn’t look like anyone was refused entrance.

9. I understand from our Office Manager, however, that as of Sunday,
February 2, no funds have been deposited to our bank account. We have checked our accounts multiple times a day since January 29, but no funds have been transmitted. We have received no information or explanation from the Administration for Community Living about the interruption in funds.
10. In short: we have received no federal funds since the OMB Freeze Memo was issued. Our Center had enough money to meet payroll on Friday, January 31, and to cover outstanding bills. But we did not have enough money on hand to cover another two-week pay period at full staffing.
11. Thus, on Friday, January 31, the Board of Directors voted to lay off three of our five employees and drastically reduce services to our customers. This presented a dire situation for our customers, who have immediate needs.
12. For example, on Monday, February 3, we are scheduled to take an
86-year-old woman to dialysis treatments (which we do for her every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Our agency is her only way to get to these life-sustaining appointments.

Trump's freeze on Medicaid, Head Start, etc. was intentional. He knowingly created the panic in order to trigger lawsuits by state AGs. A leaked memo from someone in the OMB states that trump froze funding & created chaos in order to force a Constitutional challenge. He wants it before SCOTUS.

I know of someone whose employer wanted everyone back in office, only to discover that there wasn't enough office space. The employer then backed off on the decision. Office buildings cost money not only to purchase or lease, but also to keep the lights on and maintain.

Zuckerberg is forcing users to follow Trump’s presidential Facebook page. I never followed him but his page showed up on my timeline today. Went to hide it and saw an option to unfollow. What? Unfollowed and a few minutes later I was following him again. I ended up blocking. It’s happening to many!

I totally understand this. My hubby worked EMS for 30 years & in the ER as well. He and his colleagues saw trauma and heartbreak every day. Yet, in between they were able to joke around, laugh, experience joy. To some it may seem callous, but in reality, it's a needed coping mechanism to keep going.
