Also to add, some people from JP companies that I've talked to recently also seem annoyed by these approval requirements that are put on everything but are forced to operate like that because of how the culture functions.

Unfortunately, a lot of smaller outlets rely on good relations with Japanese companies to secure interviews and general media opportunities. Banding together might be a good way to try and change things, but I'm not sure that would be easy to do because of how some outlets treat others.

I'm still angry over what they did to Tower of God with S2, that case is similar to TBATE You mention Mushoku as a standard of sorts, but I'd say it is way above average just because it does world-building so well. Even if characters are degenerate, the adaptation is just magical on every level
