(I cropped this one - there’s more to the full drawing, but this felt like the focal point and I think I’ll leave it at that)

That is super handy and a good idea! I was just mentioning that to Tim yesterday that everybody in Prey has just the Transtar uniform, but I really want to see what other outfits would look like, too. For fun. Great idea! You is wise.

Yeaaaaaaah, about the most extensive library I could find was adorkastock and I just…. wish it had had more range. Flashy is fine, but I need regular degular poses, too. On that note, oh! That book is awesome! Nice!! Thank you! :O

The one time I can’t ask my husband to pose for me. The bugger’s like some sort of stick-insect-made-man. :/

But I am pleased at how I can at least find ladies and large-dude-wielding-sword or like… magic powers. Go you guys. Lament, as far as I know, Alex was a little averse to dabbling in neuromods himself, so not what I need. If anyone knows a resource for this particularity, hit me up.

I want to draw Alex Yu very badly but it is disturbingly hard to find photo references of fat people in general (I am not surprised, just vexed). And then specifically finding ones that work for ‘big guy whose job is administrative and whose personality is -big, exhausted sigh-‘? Also difficult.

But really, do love a guy with a chill demeanour, a voice I could listen to all day, a truly bent moral compass, guilt like an abandoned mineshaft, and big feelings about his brother. 👍

We also finished Prey (2017) a few days ago and this is not the fanart I expected I’d be doing but here I am rotating Alex Yu in my mental microwave. I like him A LOT better than Morgan, honestly. #art #sketch || #Prey2017 #AlexYu

A couple of the WIPs I picked up again recently. Both of these are very old and are going to feel ✨amazing✨ to finally finish. #art #oc #ocart #wip || #AlphaBase #Henry #Michael #Errick

A screenshot of Procreate featuring a canvas in progress. In the foreground is a scared looking boy with long dark hair, goggles, a hood pulled up, and a respirator mask clutched in one hand. He’s painted in shades of rosy purple with bright orange light on his face. Behind him in oranges and reds is the painted portrait of a younger boy with brown skin, curly dark hair, and a regal, almost militaristic-looking outfit. The painting is surrounded by flowers and lights. In Procreate’s reference pane is another drawing of the boy in the painting, but wearing a simple purple cloak with a hood.

A screenshot of a Procreate canvas featuring a drawing of two boys hugging. The one on the left being hugged has long black hair, tan skin, dark, narrow eyes, and a fond smirk. He’s looking to his left at the younger boy hugging him, who is darker skinned, with curly dark hair and blue eyes.

Hi - still alive. I haven’t been winning in weeks, but we’re trying again. I’ve been making myself draw this weekend and catching up on things that are haunting me. Removing cobwebs before fall. Possibly a little backwards. That’s okay.

Sleep deprived but still added two paragraphs to my story tonight. That’ll do, pig. That’ll do. Let’s see if I can sleep without the horror story soundtrack dreams this time.

I’ve been off-and-on trying to draw him for years, but he vexes me. This sketch vexes me the least, so far.

Sketchbookin’. I like exactly one (1) character in Black Butler and it’s -this- clown. (We both need more coffee) — #art #fanart #sketchbook || #BlackButler #Kuroshitsuji #Joker

A snapshot of a sketchbook page featuring a pencil drawing of Joker from Black Butler: he’s an thin-faced anime character with dramatically spiky hair partly covering one eye, a teardrop drawn down one cheek, and a heavy ornate coat pulled around his shoulders. He’s leaning heavily against a wall with one eye closed, looking exhausted.

Sometimes you have the kinds of nightmares that make you want to just run an all day self-diagnostic. I think that was one of the most gruesomely realistic body horror dreams I’ve ever had. :x Pour quoi??? Body o’ mine: you good??

Weird Sticks are hung! You’re getting an angled shot because I’ll probably spend the next week making small position adjustments since at least one is crooked but I’m not fixing it tonight. The only problem is that making these is kinda fun, so now I need another space that needs something.

I actually had to mute a couple of my posts recently because they were getting too many notes, but both were, in spirit, about patience, love, and kindness. Of all the things to pop off. Heck yeah, guys. Keep caring. 💙

Also puts some clarity on that one time a stranger in Beacon Hill Park told me with deep certainty: “You’re American, aren’t you?” No, just super rural Albertan. But as it turns out…

Ha. Well. That’s about as close to my geographical origin point as this map can get. What I’m getting from this is that people from Montana can almost blend in as Canadians. As long as they have their “eh”, “sorry”, and the Canadian rise down.

A screenshot of a United States dialect map, indicating that the user speaks most similarly to people from Montana.

Part of it is that I hate to do away with anything that still works, if I can find a way. One day I will get my Handspring from 1999 to sync with my computer again! One day! As for the bottle, the one I have uses an easily replaceable button battery. 👍 The new ones have a charge cable. Lame. 👎

Meghan Taylor @talonserena.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Supposedly they’ll happen. Until then, whenever I want a cup of tea or need to make a staff badge they just get to witness me squatting on the floor like Heehoo.

030

Meghan Taylor @talonserena.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Now what I could really use at work is desk drawers. My coworkers and I have been living out of floor piles since the “upgrade” and it’s getting a bit silly. I had to repurpose my recycling bin as a kind of plastic-tub bindle.

My new desk at work has a bottle holder. So. I want to be the one with the bottle that sparkles. XD

Sometimes the cure for a truly brutal week is to tinker with something silly. I have an old HidrateSpark 3 water bottle that I got back in like… 2019? Replaced the battery, updated the firmware, and ta dah! It lights up and tracks my hydration habits once again! That made me stupidly happy.

As an adult, I get it. But even thirty years later, it still makes me sad. I was just a weird kid trying to navigate a world that wasn’t quite built for me. I didn’t mean any harm. I still don’t. And it still happens. I just have a lot less confusion about it, even if it hurts the same.

Meghan Taylor @talonserena.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I didn’t do anything egregious, but I made them uncomfortable. For some of them, that was enough to ban me from visiting. I remember asking my one friend, Manda, to explain what I did wrong and she couldn’t. We were both upset by it, and I didn’t understand.

1312

Meghan Taylor @talonserena.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I’ve always been a little strange. I remember when I was a kid, I had more than one of my friends’ mothers decide that I was a bad kid because of simple things like how I would forget to say hello, or couldn’t always talk, or because I’d say or do strange things and get overwhelmed and cry easily.

Coworkers out sick and we’re short-staffed, the overall mood of the city appears to be: Bitchy with a side of Mad, relatives are a spectacular level of tone deaf, evening plans cancelled, caught the depressed-and-lonelies, and then Aunt Flo arrives at my door. And it is only Tuesday.

I should have been in bed a while ago but tonight I was just riled. up. :| This calls for more Ezra. Added him to the edge of a sketchbook page that was otherwise mainly white space. #art #oc #ocart #furry || #Ezra #ProphecyOfTheCircle (also feat.: #Henry #Errick #AlphaBase)

A photo of a sketchbook page featuring sketches of a small USB like device labelled “Archive Key”, a boy with curly dark hair reaching up to touch the long dark hair of an older, annoyed-looking boy, and a large sketch of a six-limbed furry character - Ezra - overarching the whole page. Ezra has a canine-like muzzle, shaggy dark hair, dragon wings on his back and fins on his head. He’s posed as if crawling down off of a ledge, wings outstretched and his long tail arched out behind him.

Right. I should explain: I was away for a week, dealing with Big Life Stuff. I was very quiet leading up to it because the anticipation was worse than the actual events. But they were still big events, and I might cryptically process them as art for a while.

Had feelings. Made a secret, personal music video about it that I will show to like three people. This is how I process change. It is objectively correct.
