There is literally nothing AI fixes that there wasn't already an existing, functional, and reliable tool for. They literally had to make shit worse via enshittification to make this tool 'worth while'. The only 'problem' it solves is hiring someone to do the job otherwise asked of it.

000

Tali Sidekick @talisidekick.bsky.social · 8h

I've figured out why I hate AI so much! If I own a tool like a hammer that I use in my daily life, if it were to disappear, that would negatively impact my life. I'd have to make do without it which would suck. AI disappearing wouldn't be a detriment. There already exist replacement tools.

Losing this museum, having it not be open to the public, or funded means the research happening within it's walls would halt and the specimens stored within become at risk of being lost, misplaced, or improperly stored. The museum itself is a piece of history, and an institution we all can't lose.

I am absolutely down for there being modern and vintage ships in the game. It makes the universe feel more alive. That said, this is a game, and if the power creep keeps going up, the vintage ships are going to feel more like vanity commodities than functional options. Just a concern of mine. (2/2)

Tali Sidekick @talisidekick.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

My immediate thoughts on the new #Elite:Dangerous dev update: The new Mk. II ship is cool, and the crime/authority system rework is a good idea. Can the performance gap between the new modern ships and the old ones be less stark though? (1/2)

Besides these 6 ... honestly super fun gameplay. I'm so glad this got added in. It feels like this should have been part of Horizons years ago. I know I've done nothing but gripe about the updates since Horizons, but this actually changed my tune. I need more of this.

010

Tali Sidekick @talisidekick.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

And lastly: 6. Can you please let a pilot of a ship designate a helmsman to fly their ship? I know it's an odd request but I know so many of my friends who'd love to hand over control for a bit to take a stretch or have a friend fly for them. This could eliminate needing number 5.

110

Tali Sidekick @talisidekick.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

4. Can the passengers in the Rhino also have the mining rig monitoring display so we can watch it on our Heads Up Display more easily? It makes it hard to manage the drills for the driver. 5. I didn't test this, but can we please have the ability to offload resources onto a friends ship?

110

Tali Sidekick @talisidekick.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

2. Please have some warning pop up that you're getting too far from a mining rig before it just drops off the radar. 3. There's a bug with the holographic livery on the Rhino that creates a shifting visual effect for passengers that's nauseating and hurts the eyes. Please fix this?

110

Tali Sidekick @talisidekick.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Last night was fun! I have a few notes on the new Rhino update for @frontierdev.bsky.social though: 1. Please let the pilot choose to deploy with crew members in the Rhino. It's annoying to have to land, offload team mates, and have them run to the Rhino.

Canadians! Given politics recently being so distracting; a warning: It's now 6°C in the morning in the interior. Now might be a good time to take the beer out of the creek and take the out door fridge/freezer inside before the compressor freezes. Winter looks like it might be early this year.

If I'm going to attempt this nicer news idea, I need to look through all the articles published in the last week. Besides the CBC, GlobalNews, and CPAC, does anyone know of other major #Canadian news outlets I could look into? And a follow up question: Any local provincial ones? I need sources.
