Car dependency wasn’t an inevitability. It was a choice. And once it was made, it didn’t become an inescapable trap, although it can feel that way. It just takes making different choices, that are hard at first (because that’s what dependency does), but that get easier. It takes vision and will.

Wonder whether @eastmidsrailway.bsky.social is seriously thinking of keeping 07.18 and 07.43 departures from LEI 'cancelled' even after the school terms start? Currently the only EMR Intercity northbound departure from LEI between 07.00 and 08.00 is the 07.52.

イギリス極右政党とその支持者達、ゴミ箱伯爵に対する攻撃も馬鹿の一つ覚えに聞こえてしまう。そもそも補選を「人民対支配階層の国民審判」と謳ったところで、一旦何処の誰がゴミ箱伯爵を「支配階層」の一員と見るだろうか。挙句のところ彼等の目論見が大きく外れたと言うこと。

『和辻哲郎随筆集』の中に「我が国をほろぼし我家をやぶる大将」の「四類型」と言うのが出てくる。そのうちの一つ、「ばかなる大将」とは「おなじようなばか者を重用」し家中が「軽薄なへつらい者」ばかりになってしまい「家は滅亡」するとのこと。　現代の世界情勢を揶揄しているようで興味深い。
