iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Takoyaki Tai @takoyakitai.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I'm alive. I think. I think, therefore I am. Therefore I must exist. Yes? Maybe. Do I stop existing when I dissociate? I'm not thinking, therefore I'm not. While dissociating, do I simultaneously exist and not exist? I'm pretty sure there's a box I need to crawl into for this.

Anybody have a sketch that I can ink for practice? It's been a while since I've done digital lineart of someone else's sketch, and I'd like to get some practice and maybe some samples to show in my portfolio. Feel free to send me a DM either here or on Discord, or even through email.

Y'know what, here's an old piece from 7 years ago. Hard to believe I used to have the energy to spend a whole week on an art piece.

021

Takoyaki Tai @takoyakitai.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

I ran out of energy about 2/3 of the way through, but I was determined to get this much done at least. Lineart is fun.

Had a thought about doing this sort of card-based thing as a YCH. Not sure if I will. But here it is anyways.

No idea if it's a thing on vgen, but I've decided to re-open an old commission option I used to do that I haven't done in a while: Linearting. Are you an artist who hates the digital inking stage? Why not outsource it to someone who enjoys it? I'm crazy enough to enjoy it.

Does anyone else stress over "how the heck do I render this again"? Or is it just me?

020

Takoyaki Tai @takoyakitai.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Finally got me a vgen set up! I am... terrified.

Artists of the blue skies, I beseech the: Can anyone provide references/tutorials/suggestions for how to draw hair of varying textures, especially in a simplified style? Asking for a friend.

Random thought about #vtubestudio but what if it had the option to enable randomly playing set animations. Imagine having your model swap to its AFK idle animation, but occasionally plays other animations such as a yawn, or maybe have certain toggles turn on and of on a timer.

Figured I'd share the full concept sheet to help with details. This was a lot of fun.

Words of affirmation and a promise of self-care received. Behold!

A figure with pale grey skin and dark blue hair, webbed feet and pointed ears, clad in tattered clothes such as teal one-sleeved kimono, deep purple pants, and tattered bandages and red thread wrapped around his body.

Hmmm I wonder what this could be. I demand a ransom of one positive affirmation for yourself and an attempt at self-care and maybe I'll show you what's underneath.

Very shyly and anxiously putting myself out there for Live2D rigging offers. Feeling a bit more productive with the new meds, so wanting to give it a try. Also offering art, should hopefully have a proper reference/price sheet done up today.

Proof that some movements become permanent muscle memory... I keep trying to brush away eraser shavings whenever I finish erasing something in my digital drawing.

Naming my kitten Odysseus has had interesting drawbacks. I'm not allowed to sing Epic anymore without potentially getting a fuzzy orange missile to the face.

Takoyaki Tai @takoyakitai.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

I apologize to all the orange cat owners of the world. I think I know who has the collective braincell. I’ve never had cats that actively seek my out to play fetch before. I should have seen the warning signs. And now I appear to be an accessory to the collective braincell heist of 2026.

Of course today is the day the kitchen sink randomly floods because of a blockage on the neighbor’s side and overflows and the water destroys a bunch of our food and household items. Thanks, I hate it.

Guess who laid down for a nap at 6pm just to wake up at 11. Guess my body said no. But at least Ody got cuddles and a couple hours of sleep snuggled into my face.

Takoyaki Tai @takoyakitai.bsky.social · 12/03/2026

Going to try to actually get some art going in the coming days, I need something that shows what I can do that isn't just my model. But going to be throwing myself out there to do work for anyone that needs it, be it rigging or art. Just need to not lose my nerve again.

When half of your therapy appointment is spent explaining FFXIV to outline for your therapist why it's been good for your mental health because of the cathartic storyline and gamified incentives to socialize with people you've never met--
