The answer to another question, about the zine's focus! We've also posted a more in-depth response to this on our Tumblr, for anyone interested.

Question: I’ve been wondering how much focus is going to be put on the original team!!! I love Kay like a daughter but since the zine is about her AND the Yatagarasu I’ve been wondering if this is more about their legacy and impact on her?

Answer: Our focus is quite broad: we'll be taking any pitches relating to Kay and/or the original team, wether they're on their own, with other characters, or all together as a group!

We've got a couple questions from our submitted applications to share as the week comes to a close; starting off with one regarding rejection emails.

Question: Will we be notified if we aren’t accepted?

Answer: Yes; all applicants will receive an email on December 15, regardless of their application status (so make sure to check your spam folder)!

Our writing intern mod, Abigale, is here to ponder Faraskye-- and help with writing feedback, of course! @smolgirlowo.bsky.social

"Du eem jigareses," Kay says as she steals a glace at her favourite person in the world.

"Hm? What does that mean?"

(It means I can't live without you. It means you're a part of me. You are my heart. My light. My universe. It means that you're my soulmate. I don't just love you; I'm incomplete without you. I would die without, Ema Skye. That's what it means. That's how much I treasure you.)

Kay smiles as Ema looks back at her. "It's 'you are my liver.'"

"You're so silly." Ema snorts and leans in for a kiss.

Someone's searching deep in the casefiles; that's Vyn, our writing mod!

Maybe she should feign a little more grief herself; maybe she should act like the dead girl actually meant something to her instead of being a smoke screen behind which she could create a new identitiy; but then again, maybe Calisto Yew can be a little more like the actual woman who plays her in this weird drama, cold and hard and unqilling to wait any longer.

She flattens her hand to the table. "I'm done sitting around."

Writing Mod -- Vyn (she/her)

Hi there! I'm Vyn and I loved the Yatagarasu from the first time they shows that CG in AAI (you know the one). I'm a prolific fanfic writer and zine machine and I'm so excited to lend a wing to the Take Flight! Zine team!

We've got our support mod scheming behind the scenes-- say hello to Cam!

Apollo has been in Klavier's apartment often enough to know where his mugs are, and how the coffee machine works, and that he likes strong cofee with one of his fancy sweeteners. Klavier takes the mug with a shaky smile and quietly sits down on the sofa. Apollo sits next to him, and ever so gently takes his bleeding hand and starts to wrap the bandage around it. Klavier wants to curl his fingers around Apollo's. He doesn't.

Additionally, here's a quick FAQ based on some questions we received!

Question: What would the policies be surrounding canon adjacent Alternate Universes, for example, post-canon Seven Year Gap?
Answer: It's buried in our info doc, but to reiterate: all Alternate Universes, canon-divergence, and time skips are allowed! (As long as we can recognize the characters, of course!)

Question: Would Dropbox be considered alongside Google Drive as an alternative portfolio viewer?
