Sometimes I stumble upon an old interview that really makes me wish these magazines were easier to access for the average person, such as this Final Fantasy X chat with Sakaguchi from OPMUK Oct. 2001.

Q: From your experiences in the industry, how easy is it for a newcomer to make a name for themselves?
A: I don't see that much trouble for young people getting into the industry. Games are diverging and will take three very distinct paths. Firstly, there's what I call 'game-like games,' which have the same gameplay characteristics going back to 16-bit days. The second will be similar to Final Fantasy X in that they are dramatic and display sophisticated visuals. The third will be online games. Newcomers should follow some steps. For example, they should start with the production of 'game-like games.' With the staff and finances needed, they can't expect to make a Final Fantasy at the start.

Well... it's official... I need a translator for Tenerezza; the RE work is all but done. This has really been on my list to get done for far too long now. Happy to have made it all work, made the game work with 1-byte ASCII and everything as before that would crash no matter what.

I wish people whose only exposure to Dragon Quest is XI would stop perpetuating the myth that every game is a lazy copy of the last, reusing the same gameplay and music and banking completely on nostalgia. You're just talking about Dragon Quest XI.

I need an excuse to use this account, so here are reviews of 44 games I played in 2025! 1) Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire I don't care much for Gen 3, but the technological difference between GB and GBA fixes most of the issues I had with the first game. The ball physics are still a bit glitchy.

Recently, I've been playing Xak: The Art of Visual Stage for the MSX2. It's very addictive, and really expands upon the gameplay loop of pre-Darm Ys: Ancient Ys Vanished.
