Say I visit friends who live in CA. $250 round trip for that (cheap flights, no bags). I get maybe 10-20 of those before I match the cost of my hardware. I visit that friend and many others every week in VR.

Well I work for myself sooo... At any rate, I've "travelled" farther in virtual visiting people than I have in IRL. I'm not going to bother doing the math, but the plane tickets would outstrip whatever I paid for the PC.

Gas and shitty beer got expensive :p I do most of these things in VR more often than IRL nowadays (which isn't saying much for the frequency of either; my other friends will tell you).

Since this is my first real try at the Hubble palette I'm still working out the process. Sulfur is a bit crunchy being such a weak signal on a color camera, and could have used more time, but not bad for a first try!

I did a bit of the Furality thing. While I wasn't able to put as much time into it as some, it didn't matter. The experience resonated with me in ways I didn't anticipate, and still is. Thanks to the creators, organizers, and my friends who encouraged me to go. It's something I'll remember forever.

No big summer nebulae to image yet, so I'm pushed the limits of this little 300mm scope. Always wanted to image this target but I thought it would be too small to see any detail. I was pleasantly surprised! Whirlpool galaxy, 10 hours of RGB, 4.5 hours of Ha, taken near Denver.

Yea, I'm in bortle 8-9 skies and it's achievable, especially with narrowband filters. Can I do better elsewhere? Sure, but it's not nearly as cozy as setting up in the backyard, listening to music or playing a game inside while watching the captures come in :3

I'm gonna be that guy pointing out (after just posting my astro) that these things are the becoming the bane of astrophotographers, and maybe soon everyone's problem (Kessler's syndrome) We're obviously free to find beauty in anything, but ultimately the outcome of these launches is anything but.
