i have been doing this work for a couple years & i want to emphasise that when we stop this kaupapa it hurts women and LGBTQIA+ (the high majority of victims of violence) AND leaves a demographic of boys and men with very few pathways out of a growing cult of violent behaviour. prevention works!

I usually skip the book. If it was important the author would have called my phone and told me.

the weirdest thing about being published in nz is that your biggest critics are estranged family friend s, deadbeat relations and old classmates your biggest fans are fellow writers, lecherous older men and grandmothers

i am constantly burned by the romance smut genre bc every single blurb says the characters have breathtaking chemistry and then the interactions are like, "hey girl u r my girl and no one elses girl"

kia ora the scene form my book that is highlighted in this article contains sexual violence it's important we make the distinction between rape and sex bc users of violence will purposely try to blur that line rape is concerned with power - this act of violence is sexualised* but it is not sex
